Finding fun and unique ways to personalize your big day is our specialty! Today we have a lovely DIY from the talented ladies of Smitten on Paper showing you how to put together a sweet ceremony kit and a ribbon wand everyone will love! Now whether you’re a DIY bride or not, there’s something in this for everyone. :)
Materials Needed:
• custom candy bags
• paper shop candy bags
• straws
• ribbon
• pencils of various sizes
• ink pad
• scissors
• program sheets (download) – ceremony • thank you • wedding
Step One:
Get your pencils together and draw hearts or the shape of your choice onto the eraser. No need to be perfect! Grab your x-acto knife and carefully (and slowly) cut away at the eraser until you have your shape. It’s nice to try different eraser sizes so you have a mixture. You can even leave the pencil as is for polka dots!
Step Two:
Ink the top of your eraser and start stamping your candy bags. You can get some of these kraft candy bags from our Paper Shop. Use a mix of shapes and sizes, you can even try monogram stamps.
Step Three:
Next, get your straws and ribbon together. We cut about 18″ for these wands and used 3 different colors.
Step Four:
Fold the ribbon in half, wrap around the top of straw and pull the ends of the ribbon through the loop formed at the top. Add a little bit of glue to secure them.
We love the colors of these! This DIY was inspired by our Vintage Banner invite … blues & golds are just so dreamy.
You can either create a mix of custom printed bags or stamped kraft bags – they look so cute either way. Place the ceremony bags on the chairs for your guests to pick up when they arrive or attach them to the back of a chair. Your guests can wave their wands in the air when you and your beau say I Do and I Do Too!

Love the colors and the creativity. Where did you get the straws from? Not only are they colorful but look thicker than a typical straw. I’d love to featured this in a blog post!
Great idea – love those colors together
Seems easy! I’ll try it.
