Looking for a fun way to ring in the New Year? Or perhaps a unique way for your guests to shower the two of you as you exit your wedding? How about a playful confetti send off with these super cute confetti slingshots!? :) I love how unique + hip these are – and they are easy to customize for your wedding day. :) Big thanks to our newest DIY contributors, Going Lovely for this DIY!
Here’s what you’ll need to make one slingshot:
• Y shape deer antlers (you can also use a tree branch if you can’t find antlers)
• painter’s tape
• craft paint
• paint brushes
• hot glue gun and glue sticks
• thick rubber bands
• twine
• vinyl, leather, or fabric of your choice
• clear polyurethane
• scissors
• bag with confetti or filler of your choice (we love this eco-friendly confetti!)
Step 1: Choose your first color and begin painting the first layer. We found it easiest to start from the top and make your way down. Paint your first color (may need a couple of coats depending on how bright you want it) and make sure it’s fully dried before the next step.
Step 2: Use painter’s tape to mark off where you want the next color to start. We experimented with a couple different styles including chevron and horizontal stripes. You can do whatever your heart desires. Just be sure to let it fully dry to make sure the tape doesn’t pull off any paint from the first layer. Repeat with the colors of your choice until you’ve fully glammed up the slingshot base.
Step 3: Once you’re done painting your design, paint on one coat of clear polyurethane to seal the paint and prevent chipping. It also creates a nice shiny and polished surface.
Step 4: Cut the pouch of the slingshot out of leather, vinyl or fabric of your choice. Then, make one slit on both sides for the rubber bands to go through.
Step 5: Cut 2 rubber bands so that they are each one long piece. String one end through the slit and tie into a knot. Wrap and hot glue twine around the rubber band to create a clean and polished look. Repeat on the other end.
Step 6: Wrap the untied end of the rubber band to the sling shot base and tie into a knot. Wrap twine or yarn over the rubber band and secure with hot glue for some added pizzazz.
Display your slingshot with a cute pouch full of glitter, rice, or filler of your choice. When ready to use, pour materials into your hand and sling away! We had so much fun with sparkly confetti and think this would be a great for a bride and groom send off or during the upcoming new years. Enjoy!

This is such a fun and creative idea. This would be great for a new year’s eve party or even a surprise birthday party for a close friend. Super inexpensive too. I would probably opt for the tree branches instead of antlers and then could even make the confetti leaf shaped! Love this project. Keep up the great work ladies!
