Today begins the two day celebration known as Dia de los Muertos which is celebrated in Mexico and many other cultures around the world. I thought this beautiful + colorful inspirational shoot designed by Samantha of Primary Petals and Kathy of The Vintage Table Co. was filled to the brim with lovely ideas to use not only to celebrate this holiday but also incorporate into your wedding. I also love that they had the bride styled after Frida Kahlo. Oh, and the gorgeous bride – that is Samantha of Primary Petals modeling with her hubby! What a super cute duo. :)
Do you love her gorgeous vintage wedding dress? It’s for sale on TheGownSwap.com!
Thanks to all these creative vendors for sharing their talents with us today!

Ok, Jen, this is the prettiest freaking thing I’ve ever seen in my freaking life. I mean COME ON. COME ON!!!!! Gorgeous!!!!!
Thank you for the feature, Jen!!! And thanks to everyone for the lovely comments! :)
Thank you so much again Jen for featuring us! We had such a fun time putting together this shoot, as we got to work with some amazing people.
That’s awesome. I am surprised I haven’t seen a wedding like this. I have many friends who are very big into Dia De Los Muetros/day of the dead
Fan-friggin-tastic! The colors, oh the colors and the bouquet…
These colors are just gorgeous! I am obsessed with the table scape!
I am so glad you like the bouquet Jacqueline! I was so fortunate to find coral peonies this time of year, and of course we had to add marigolds to the mix. They are the official flower of Dia de los Muertos.
So glad you loved the tablescape, Intertwined Events! I’m so pleased with how all of the pieces came together. When we put the skulls on the plates, there was a collective *gasp* ;)
Cool colors and very unique indeed!
These gals are geniuses! Samantha from Primary Petals did the florals for my wedding and this was my exact wedding theme. über gorgeous shoot!!!
Loved shooting this beautiful setting!!!!
Thank you so much for featuring us Jen! We had a great time working with everyone on this shoot!
This is amazing!!! being mexican i certainly have a soft spot in my heart for this celebration and simply adore the work that you have done here! x
Just simply stunning. The colors are oh-so right and the details are exquisite!
Thank you for this!! My fiance and I just got engaged this last Friday. We had long spoken about when we did tie the knot, we would definitely do a Dia De Los Muertos theme on the celebration day of November 2, 2012. He is from Peru and I have a deep appreciation for this culture so it just seemed right. Unfortunately, while trying to find some inspiration, most of what I have come across has been very “cheesy” if you will. This has sparked some great ideas in my mind, so again…Thanks!!
We had Primary Petals do our wedding and it came out gorgeous! Samantha, so glad to see you got the wedding (or at least the photo shoot) that you and James perhaps would’ve preferred! :)
Awesome as always!! Love these talented peeps! Sam, I TOTALLY didn’t even recognize you at first! Gorgeous!
The bride – gorgeous (looove the shot of her looking over her shoulder). The bouquet – genius. The color – vibrant. Love the styling and the shoot as a whole! wonderful work! Never thought I’d do a Dia de Los Muertos theme, but now, just maybe.
Scared with the skull though, but like the concept. Thanks for sharing those lovely colors.
So visually appealing!

Jaime- that’s my favorite shot of the bride too! So pretty!
These Pictures are AMAZING!!!!!!
Marianne& Joe – er ADORE you!!!!
I love how the cake table is set up to look like an altar! The colors in the bouquet are perfect (love the pop of turquoise!), and the small skulls at each place setting are too cute. (Who would have thought skulls could be cute? :)
This is awesome! I love the intensity of the colors, the theme choice is a great one and the couple is beautiful. I love the small details as well. Thanks for sharing

Wow….amazing styling and photography!
Hi,
For “Dia de los Muertos” wedding theme shoot, I’d like information on the bride’s necklace. There’s no mention of her jewelry, right?
Thank you,
