Erica Elizabeth Designs English Rose Collections 2015

bride on a swing

Inspired by the beauty of the classic English rose, the 2015 collection from Erica Elizabeth Designs, captured to perfection by Caroline Tran, is filled with the most beautiful + romantic veils and headpieces. For this latest collection, Erica has embraced the intense, time-consuming art of metal fabrication, seen in many of this season’s bridal crowns and tiaras. Each piece is crafted from the most gorgeous textiles + details. She loves to mix different silks – habatoi, tulle, organza – to create unique textures, which are then blended with soft French laces and touched with freshwater pearls to add richness and dimension. Her love of nature is apparent in her designs with gorgeous details like winding enamel leaves, hand detailed and finished with spots of pearl and rhinestone that sparkle and gleam with the play of light. Sounds so pretty, right? Let’s hear a bit more about the new collection, directly from Erica:

I was captivated anew by the seduction and mystery of the English rose while launching a venture into the world of scent (watch for the upcoming premier of my Eglantine parfum). As with my fragrance, each new headpiece stems from this floral inspiration, with this signature flower adorning crowns, halos, circlets and bandeaus. The art of flower making has origins that reach back through the centuries, when European artisans crafted sumptuous silk roses, custom constructed of silk and hand wrapped with wire. The time and craftsmanship involved eventually sent the process the way of mass production, but without the same stunning result.

For this season’s pieces, I’ve focused on recreating the luxury of a gorgeous blooming English rose, fashioning its Olde World appeal into a rich repertoire of timeless accessories for today’s bride.

Delish Mixology Bachelorette Party Inspiration

bachelorette dinner + drinks

We all know there are so many fun parts of celebrating your wedding, aside from the BIG DAY itself, so as soon as GATHER Events shared this amazing idea for a non traditional bachelorette party with us, we were immediately hooked. Inspired by Cocktail Academy’s unique offering of craft cocktails lessons, this shoot shares a peek at a bride-to-be’s last call – a night of indulgent drinks and delicious bites with her best gals before the wedding! The scene, set with a color palette of indigo, blush, crimson, and gold (so unique) + wild floral arrangements by Primary Petals, made for a luxurious, yet relaxed, atmosphere at Downtown LA’s Apartment A. From GATHER Events, We envisioned a refreshing departure from the typical bachelorette party bar scene. A crowd-free night out with your best girlfriends AND your own private bartender…what could be better?!

We think it sounds pretty perfect! And we’re beyond glad that Brian Tropiano captured this shoot so beautifully so we could all be inspired by this bachelorette party, redefined.

This lounge created a luxurious alcove for these girlfriends to celebrate together in style. And speaking of style, we adore just about every element that went into this setting. To help you get a similar look for your own bachelorette (or perhaps bridal shower?), we’ve put together a little round-up of key pieces below:

ModCloth + Green Wedding Shoes Bridesmaid Dresses

Modcloth Green Wedding Shoes dresses

It’s a big day here at GWS + that has everything to do with what we’re about to announce! We’ve partnered with one of our fave fashion sources (especially for pretty party + bridesmaids dresses!), ModCloth, to bring you lovelies some of the best bridesmaids looks for fall!

It all began when ModCloth asked us to pick a few dresses from their new collection that represent the GWS girl, and style them up with gorgeous ModCloth shoes + jewels. (A girl’s dream come true, right?!) We’re so in love with our sweet ‘maids collection and are thrilled that there are even three stunning frocks named after us here at Green Wedding Shoes! We couldn’t be more excited about this super-fun collab!

The talented Mr. Haack beautifully captured each of our bridesmaid looks during a shoot that turned out to be a seriously fun bridesmaids bash, filled with cotton candy cocktails, stunning fall florals, and a majorly (majorly) good time! And we have to say, the Lombardi House in Hollywood couldn’t have been a better backdrop for the day. A pretty barn in the middle of the city felt like the perfect setting to show off these totally adorable fall bridesmaids looks! Let us unveil the GWS for ModCloth dresses…

This lovely plum number Nicole is wearing below is the Green Wedding Shoes Dress! We absolutely adore it and think it looks great paired with shiny gold accessories like ModCloth’s Glam of Thrones necklace + Fine Dining Heels. But the best accessory of all just might be that insanely pretty bouquet by Moon Canyon Design, don’t you think? This beauty features dahlias, snow berries, hellebores, piano garden roses, clematis, orchids, pieris, parrot tulips, hosta leaves, liquid amber, and magnolia. So stunning…

Jesi Haack Design killed it with not one, but two, fun backdrops for our shoot! This one, featuring hand-drawn and watercolor painted blooms, created the perfect space to stage the adorable Bon Puf cotton candy cart! We LOVE the idea of cotton candy (BTW Bon Puf features organic, all natural cotton candy!) at weddings, a bridal shower or even a rehearsal dinner. So, so fun!
