Capturing Light, Love + Magical Moments: Onelove Photography

onelove photography

Teamwork. Love. Creativity. Warmth. Emotion. Light. Take your pick — each one of those words (and especially all of them together) capture the essence of onelove photography. Who is onelove + what is onelove? We’re glad you asked! Onelove is a family; each photographer was hand-selected and personally trained by onelove photography’s founder, Sara. Only photographers who embody the same intentional warmth and kindness of the onelove aesthetic both in their professional and personal lives shoot for onelove. It is the shared love for their art that unites them.

One of the coolest parts about this team is that since there are a number of skilled artists, they have photographers based in Northern AND Southern California and are available for travel WORLDWIDE.

Inspired by the likes of Monet + Renoir, and their ability to capture the present moment, each of onelove’s artists focuses on the following things: beauty, light, movement, and emotion. Working with their hearts + their hands, some serious magic happens! Let’s learn a little bit more about Sara + her team… and make sure to read on for a major *GIVEAWAY*!!

A genuine artisan at heart, Sara has spent over a decade researching, developing and refining her unique approach to Neo-Impressionism and applying the technique to photography. In the last 20 years she’s shot professional live-action sports, traveled to Monet’s Garden, photographed over 400 weddings as well as trained over 50 photographers.

The above photo is from this feature: A Cheery Springtime Wedding with a Train Ride Through the Redwoods.

Sara shares: Soon after launching the company in 2002, I began to round up fellow photographic artists, trained in the photojournalism world, and we banded together to shoot under a very specific aesthetic inspired by our love of Impressionism. We are trained for candid, natural photography — following those fleeting moments. We use Monet’s lighting and painting techniques as our model for use of light, atmosphere and abstraction in our photography. 15 years later, and our cameras are continuing to create Impressionistic interpretations every day.

We believe there is no such thing as a perfect wedding. The reality is, things are going to go wrong on your wedding day. That’s fine. IT’S GREAT, EVEN. It’s the imperfections that make the day yours (And the best photos). Beauty is in imperfections.
