Bali Welcome Dinner: Jaime + Wes

We have such a gorgeous treat for you lovelies today! First up is Jaime + Wes’ gorgeous Bali Beach Welcome Dinner, then we will be sharing their stunning Bali wedding. Seriously so much eye candy!

On Friday night, Jaime + Wes hosted all their guests for a beach soiree on the Indian Ocean at the Amanusa Resort in Nusa Dua. Guests were greeted with fresh coconuts and tropical libations while beachy tunes played in the background. For dinner, Beth Helmstetter (their amazing wedding planner!) brought in traditional Indonesian food carts to resemble a street fair and served everything from roasted corn to pad thai and so much more. Dessert was kept light and local with fresh mangosteens + sorbet. The night ended with a surprise fireworks display given to the bride from her father. Pure magic and captured gorgeously by Steve Steinhardt.

How did you two meet?
Wes and I met two years ago in Hong Kong through our mutual friend. It’s a surprising story we never crossed paths earlier because we found out later that our lives were so intertwined – from attending the same boarding school in Massachusetts (unfortunately Wes was kicked out the semester I attended), to living just a few blocks from one another in New York, to his father dating my mother’s friend in college, the list goes on and on! We got along superbly the first dinner we met and from there it was a whirlwind romance and 2 years after we started dating, Wes proposed and threw a surprise engagement brunch for all our family and friends.

  1. OMG her dress!! Where is it from?!

  2. As a wedding planner and event designer myself, it’s not too often that I gush on facebook about someone else’s event! But this welcome dinner stopped me in my tracks — I just had to share it with everyone I know. This is the kind of jaw-dropping, gorgeous event that gets me inspired. Thank you for sharing!

  3. I can’t tell you how much I love the non-traditional look of this Bali wedding. From the favors and decorations to the dresses, nothing seems like your run-of-the-mill ceremony, yet it ties together perfectly. It takes my breath away.

  4. Lovvvvee this! And I NEED that dress!! Who is the designer??

  5. this is ever so dreamy! love love her dress!
