Antique Rose Emporium Wedding: Joy + Kevin

romantic rose emporium wedding

Do you babes remember Joy + Kevin from their sweet Summer engagement session in Colorado? If not, you can take a quick detour + check that out here! For their gorgeous wedding, held at an Antique Rose Emporium in Texas (WOW!), they wanted to showcase their relationship (which has always been relaxed, romantic, hilarious and filled with quirky, fun adventures) in a charming + natural way. Joy shares that in her culture, a wedding is a hodgepodge of efforts from all sorts of friends and family + each of those personal details are what really made their day memorable. But we have to point out, it was designed, with the help of recycled&LOVED, oh-so beautifully, too.

From Joy, The first time we visited the Antique Rose Emporium to be greeted by song birds and butterflies amongst the climbing roses, we knew it was the place we were going to say “I do”. This romantic, organic yet intimate setting was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to take our guests out of the hustle and bustle of the metropolis and really have them seep into the beautiful hill country surrounding.

Big thanks to Apryl Ann Photography for these stunning photos + congratulations to J + K on such a perfect day!

We totally adore the bridesmaids (and flower girl!) in their pretty pastel + metallic numbers. And the florals by MooseFeathers Florist are out of this world!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Joy: My favorite part of the wedding was exchanging our written vows in the garden during our ceremony. Hearing him pouring his heart out to me in front of our family and friends was so special. We cried, we laughed out loud and most importantly, we shared it with our loved ones. We also had one of our best friends officiate the ceremony which made it unforgettable!

Kevin: The lantern release. One of the bridesmaids wrote a speech about the meaning behind the sky lanterns and asked everyone to make a wish for the newlyweds as they are released into the heavens. I loved the moment we stood on the lawn, holding hands watching all those beautiful wishes slowly float in formation.

Everything about this utterly romantic reception setting has our hearts, but that chair decor is especially lovely!

And we’re digging that darling cake backdrop so much. A great DIY project, we think, or check out BHLDN’s decor section for a few similar backdrop options.

We wanted to incorporate some Chinese wedding traditions to celebrate the merging of our backgrounds. We held an informal tea ceremony to show respect to our parents and set off Chinese sky lanterns for our send off.

So lovely, guys! Best wishes for a beautiful life together from all of us at GWS! :)
