An Organic Beach Wedding Reception: Jamie + Jabdiel – Part 2

 tablescape reception

After Jamie + Jabdiel’s organic + washed ashore ceremony, it was time for their vibrant reception! A bit more into the design of the day from Jamie, Being the free spirit that I am and lover of travel, and Jabdiel intrigued by the outdoors, nature, and the ocean, we wanted to incorporate all of these elements into our decor. We really wanted it to be a true reflection of us, of our love for one another, and of our connection with the earth. Being that Jabdiel is from Panama, we also wanted to bring in the spice and flavor of the Latin American culture and tradition. For as long as I can remember, I have had a fascination with Africa and its many colorful and vibrant spice markets. I love the many textures, shapes and colors that overwhelm the continent.

With that being said, I wanted to really bring that as the main essence into the wedding which Lisa Vorce and her uber amazing team at Oh, How Charming and Renee and Nicki of R. Jack Balthazar  executed perfectly. The overall look of the wedding was lush, natural and organic, while the feeling was romantic + enchanting, and was also inspired by a variety of cultural influences. There was an evolution of color through the celebration; the ceremony was awash in serene, sun-bleached neutrals (sand, rattan, vanilla, sage and muted blush) natural muslin, bleached driftwood, mosses, succulents and other inspired elements gave an overall feeling that the scene had literally “washed ashore” for the afternoon; as the evening continued, the palette became more sultry and seductive in vibrant sunset shades with undertones of eggplant and deep plum. Lush florals, natural woods, vintage glass, weathered silver, hammered metals, and other eclectic global-inspired object’s d’art with a collected and slightly ethnic appeal were all designed to work in unison adding warmth and revelry to the space.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

All in all, we feel so grateful and blessed to have been able to share in our most sacred day with so many supportive and caring loved ones. For us, being in the company of good friends and family who brought their positivity was the one thing that mattered the most. We lived in the moment and left all of our worries and cares behind, letting the day unfold as it should. Lets be honest there are always going to be glitches and things that you cannot control especially on your wedding day but you just need to carry on and let the good times roll. Thank you to everyone who made our day a dream come true and to love for binding us so tightly together. Peace and Love, Jamie and Jabdiel
