Today we have a lovely wedding all the way from Australia! Lauren + Andrew wanted a relaxed wedding that was heaps of fun, with great food + great wine – sounds perfect to me! The most important thing to them was that they both felt comfortable – neither of them wanted a super formal wedding. From Lauren, “We didn’t feel the need to have too many traditional elements – we had no wedding cake, and I didn’t carry a bouquet. We wanted it to feel like a dinner party, so we sat people on three long tables and we only sat for main course – we had a cocktail style entrée and roving dessert.” Thanks so much Lauren + Andrew and big thanks to photographer Jonathan Ong for sharing the photos!
What song did you walk down the aisle to? Falling Slowly by The Swell Season
Most memorable moment of your wedding day? There are too many to choose from – going for a run with my brother in the morning, watching my mum get her makeup done, having a champagne with my Dad and sister whilst waiting for the car to arrive to take us to the church, seeing my gorgeous new nieces dressed as flowergirl, spotting my new husband at the end of the aisle, burning up the dancefloor at the end of the evening. If I had to pick one, it would be sitting in the bridal suite drinking champagne with my husband between the church and reception. It was so lovely to have that time together to talk about the ceremony and just be alone with each other!
Any advice for those planning now? Don’t stress too much, and remember to enjoy the process. Once the big stuff is arranged (dress, venue, photographer) all the rest is just details – you’re the only one who will notice if it’s not absolutely perfect! And get great people involved, whose opinion you trust – I had complete faith in our florist, Tara Wood, who was amazing, Erin, from Georgeous Events, who sourced the lights, did the seating chart and styled the room on the day and our photographer Jonathan Ong.

Isn’t that dress stunning? I wish more brides were into this sleek look. Beautiful post, a gorgeous medley of images.
Holy Moly this is a good looking couple. Beautiful wedding!
what a beautiful reception….
how lovely those old wedding photos…
how elegant those sleek tall glasses with adorned greens and white flowers. :)
so, so beautiful. <3
I love the idea of going away from a traditional wedding to doing more of a dinner party. It’s so intimate! I’d love to see more weddings like this…
love love love it! Them breaking traditions is perfect because it celebrates their own definition of their love. We are breaking tradition in a lot of areas too, and it’s interesting to see the good an the bad reactions to it and how everyone feels the need to have an opinion! Glad to see people stick it out!
I love that dress!!
what a gorgeous wedding, such beautiful styling
What a lovely wedding and gorgeous bride! I love her dress and style!
Love the unique way they did their flowers. So beautiful.
The very old-Edison-ish hanging lightbulbs is fantastic! That’s a great way to add a special and unique touch to an event design. And the organic floral designs are great– very complimentary with the whole setting! Everything just flows so well. Romantic lighting and setting– a very elegant and lovely dinner party. Love it!!

Does anyone know where that hanger (bent to spell her new last name) is from? I love it!
Thanks so much for the very sweet comments, everyone. We loved our wedding so much and had the most amazing night. Jon captured it beautifully in the photos. Caitlin – I bought the hanger from etsy (along with the picada that was hanging along the stairs) – the vendor for the hanger is lilafrances http://www.etsy.com/people/lilafrances
