Such an amazing wedding to start the week off! This one is for all you Anthropologie fans out there. :) Shelby is a professional dancer and Daniel is starting his last year in medical school. And they are high school sweethearts! They selected The Four Seasons in Austin for both their ceremony + reception. The vows took place outside under the trees and the reception followed indoors with tons of activities such as a face painter, caricature artist, balloon man, photo booth, professional dancers, and TWO choreographed flash mob dances – so super fun!! Shelby + Daniel wanted their wedding to be different, a wedding that each of their guests would not soon forget and this wedding was more than just a breathtaking site, it was a knock-your-socks-off kind of experience laced with love! If your venue options are limited to hotel ballrooms and you’re not feeing inspired (since you are thinking a ballroom can’t be unique), I think this wedding will show you that you that with some personal style and a bit of work, you can have a super unique + creative wedding in a ballroom – don’t feel limited! Thanks so much also to ee photography for the lovely photos and to Sweet Sunday Events for the amazing design of the day.
Shelby + Daniel had no idea that a flash mob, consisting of her house party and fellow professional dancers, was about to break out as soon as the officiate announced Daniel and Shelby as one!!
The Sweet Sunday Events team transformed a traditional ballroom and hotel hallways into a spread fit for the next Anthropologie catalogue. From the team, “We pushed ourselves to use items in unconventional ways, like using shipping palates stacked to mimic a stage; we dyed over 800 coffee filers to fill large shadow boxes and used yarn to create tailor made signs. Each turn of the hallway introduced an innovative and exciting art piece while the overall theme of chalkboards, yarn and frames connected each space to the next. Even after Sweet Sunday Events completed the event production and floral design, the bride and groom, their family and 400 closest friends made the wedding the spectacular event it turned out to be.”
Each of the 55 tables incorporated family heirlooms and other antique pieces in the centerpieces along with pretty flowers.
Later in the night the bridal party was joined by family in a well choreographed rendition of “Thriller”. To exit the night, the newlyweds were sent off on a barge where they danced beneath the Austin city lights. Congrats to Shelby + Daniel!!
