Australia dwellers, Rene’e + David, were the first couple ever to tie the knot off-the-beaten-path in the unknown Fijian Highlands. While we’ll be the first to admit that when we think Fiji, we tend to think crystal clear blue oceans + sandy, white beaches, we’ll also be the first to agree that R + D have given us a new perspective on this beautiful country as an elopement destination. They tell us, We had never been to Fiji though we had a sense that with its tropical weather and its laid-back feel, it would be perfect for us as we also didn’t want a cliché resort wedding.
And their amazingly talented photographers, Kama Catch Me, add, Organising and shooting a wedding in the Highlands was always going to be a challenge, because it had never been done before, and it’s easy to see why with the rugged, rocky narrow winding roads, the unpredictable winds, and harsh terrain. But if you’ve ever been in a situation where you’d dreamt of something for the longest time and through perseverance that day had finally arrived, then you’d know how big of a deal this one day was for us.
We spent the morning lazing around the resort and slowly as we started getting ready the excitement began to build as our adventure was about to begin. Having my best friend by my side hopping into a 4x4 , and being driven out of the resort and up into the highlands was like we were stepping back in time, and my body was full of butterflies and excitement. The location and beauty of the highlands was like something we'd never seen before! The day was so incredible I couldn't have ask for a better way to celebrate such a special moment in our lives. We made sure we took in everything on the day and just enjoy the whole experience, and it was just how we wanted it to be fun, relaxed, and stress free.
So in love with Rene’e’s dreamy flower crown + bouquet by Grace Creations Fiji.
And we adore her ethreal lace “Poppy” gown by Chris Riley Bridal.
These portraits are such a surreal dream!
Make the day your own do what is true to you. make sure its about the Marriage not the wedding so don't stress the small details and enjoy the day as it will fly by.
