A Superhero Wedding: Alex + James

Alex + James are basically just big kids. They both love superheros, playing games and just being goofy! They have fun all the time and are so lucky to have found each other. They started dreaming up crazy ideas the day they got engaged and told each other that it wasn’t about what they “should” do as far as tradition, but wanted they wanted to do and what would be “them.”

From Alex + James, “As much as it was our day, we wanted to make sure our family + friends were a big part of it and would have a fun time also. During our brainstorming, the idea of superheros and games and such came up. When we pitched it to our wedding planners at Amorology they were super excited about it and had so many ideas flowing immediately and we knew it was just right! Everything fell into place – the New Childrens Museum in San Diego for our venue was the perfect fit as well as the talented team at Jagger Photography to capture the day.” Congrats Alex + James!!!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

That is SO hard because the whole thing was absolutely more than we had imagined. Our grand entrance was a blast for us! We entered through a fake brick wall to the black sabbath Iron Man song (kind of like a superhero would ya know), and went straight into our first dance which started with swing dancing, a robot type dance, a major LIGHT SABER battle and ended with Rebecca Blacks “Friday” – yes that annoying song on youtube :)

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Having a wedding planner is definitely worth it! And also, make it YOU! It’s one of the biggest days in your life, pretend like it’s your birthday party and you get to choose exactly how it will be and who to invite.

It’s so cool when you’ve found the person you want to spend your life with, and it’s so cool to get to plan a big party together and to have the love and comfort to say “I’d really love to bust through a brick wall like superheros for our grand entrance, what do you think?” or “I’d really like to wear bright pink converse for our wedding, are you down with that?” We kicked the rules out the door and because of that had the wedding of our dreams. Our ceremony was so beautiful, it was full of happy tears and celebration, and our reception was a ball! Be happy!

Great advice Alex + James and biggest congrats to you both for doing your wedding your way!!
