I’ve gotten quite a few emails asking about ideas for bridal showers, so I’m so excited to share the bridal shower of a dear friend of mine, Leila of Be Inspired PR. Of course when you are getting married and you’ve been working in the wedding world for many years, your shower is bound to be gorgeous! The party was thrown by her sister/bridesmaid, Kellee and good friend/bridesmaid, Carissa. Some details from them and Courtney of Joyful Weddings and Events who helped plan the day:
The decor and vibe was feminine, airy, clean and fresh. We took sherbet colors as our main inspiration and incorporated lace, lockets, vintage milk glass vessels and cameos of Leila’s silhouette to give the shower a girly, yet sophisticated feel. Vintage white milkglass vases were filled with sherbert toned florals in shades of blush, coral and peach…floral varieties consisted of ranunculas, garden roses and parrot tulips. Pink and cream ruffled pillows accented the modern white furniture, adding a soft, feminine touch. The vibe was kinda this urban loft feel but bringing in really pretty, feminine colors and elements (lace, cameos, ruffles, etc.)
This pink girly shower took place at an amazing but unassuming space. In the heart of Culver City’s industrial/art district, High Profile Productions brick building has a beautiful open white space that was a blank canvas to the designing team. The venue came equipped with an eclectic collection of furniture from gorgeous modern Philippe Stark ghost chairs to vintage romantic Chandeliers. It is even had a powder room, kitchen, and funky bathroom!
Yes, there was a Pinkberry bar with tiny yummy shakes and pinkberry with lots of toppings! I was in heaven…. :)
For food, we kept it light and simple with some delicious offerings from Contemporary Catering. Finger food options included a spread of assorted cheeses, breads, dates, berries and figs, Ahi Tuna Tartar, and Smoked Duck with Mascarpone and Fig Jam on Petite Bellini. Salads were also served, including a Cous Cous, Sundried Tomato and Basil creation, along with a Pear and Gorgonzola Salad and a tasty Potato salad.
The cupcake spread was incredible! Not only did they taste amazing, but were gorgeously detailed as well. Flavors included champagne mimosa, red velvet, strawberry shortcake, 24 karat ginger, vanilla bean with white chocolate shavings, Cinnamon cake with brown sugar frosting and meyer lemon with raspberry jam. The dessert backdrop was made up of over 50 strands of 6 theme colored laces and 3 theme colored satin ribbons…all shades of blush, coral, peach, apricot etc.
Throughout the planning, we wanted to incorporate a phrase or series of phrases to give the shower a unique and personal feel. At some point, someone on the planning team suggested an “L is for ____” theme and we loved it! We included phrases such as “L is for Leila”, “L is for Love”, “L is for Lewis (Leila’s soon to be married name)”, “L is for Life”, “L is for Laughter”, and “L is for Lucky” on tags attached to paper straws, enlarged in frames and in other signs throughout the shower. The labels on the mini perfume bottles guests took as favors read “L is for Lovely”. The bar even had a sign that said, “L is for Libations”.
The scent bar was set up by a friend of the bride to be and was a huge hit! Guests could create their own perfume to take home, using a combination of over twenty scents. Each guest left with their signature scent in a glass roll on bottle. I love the scent I created – and seriously such a fun activity and favor!
Such a fun afternoon spending time with all of Leila’s friends celebrating her upcoming marriage. Gorgeous job to all involved :) And a sweet video of the day from the talented guys at Cana Video Production.

A pinkberry bar? Amazing! I have total bridal shower envy right now. I’m convinced that throwing up a couple of chandeliers and some pink peonies can make anything pretty, but this goes above and beyond…it’s incredible!
what a lovely shower…i especially love the scent bar!!
LOVE this! I love planning events such as bridal and baby showers. I like things to be nice and neat and special for the guest of honor—and not necessarily all about the gifts—which is what some people I know focus on. I can’t wait to host another shower now.
Gorgeous! I love the ribbon wall over the dessert bar. So pretty!
What an amazing and perfect shower. Although, with the ladies behind it I am not surprised. All the details and decor are gorgeous!
So gorgeous!! Such a lovely bridal party with so many great ideas!!

What a cute idea to have a scent bar– love this!
What a beautiful shower and that scent bar is pure genius! I mean what girl wouldn’t love to create her own perfume!
Wow, it’s just like a wedding!
In May I made a package for my friends hen party, I made it just like I wanted – sophisticated and for everyone attending to take part.
I’ve just had my hen party at the weekend, whilst I did have to dress in a silly outfit, I did get to drag a couple of my friends to an ice skating lesson, something I have wanted to do for years.
Jen, I LOVE this! Thanks so much for the feature, and I’m so glad you were there to share this special day with!
Everytime I visit this blog I feel like going in the street and proposing to the first guy I see just to be able to have all this beautiful ideas and do all this beautiful parties and showers and all.
