Winter Berry Farm Wedding: Em + Mick

wedding party

Em + Mick tied the knot at Montrose Berry Farm in Sutton Forest, Australia with a beautiful celebration that had a super lovely, secret garden type vibe. They incorporated lots of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces + meaningful design elements to make the day a fun representation of their journey together. And the perfect floral design by Jardine Botanic really helped take things to another level and add to the garden-like feel. I just love all of the gorgeous + unique elements integrated into the free-flowing bouquets and arrangements. Lots of prettiness to pin + share with your floral designer! :) Here’s a bit more about the day from Em:

Getting married is an extraordinary thing, and it was important to us to create a sense of the ethereal for our wedding, to transport our guests into a somewhat surreal setting. It helped us to break out of our everyday drudgery and symbolized that something out of the ordinary was about to happen: the commitment of two people to one another for life’s journey. We both wanted to incorporate some of our happiest memories into our day. For me it was the joy of an easter egg hunt. Nothing thrilled me more than finding treasure as a child, so we hid chocolates in the trees. For Mick it was listening to his father’s records. His whole family is connected by music, so we played fantastic records and danced all night.

Big thanks to Lara Hotz for the gorgeous photos + congratulations to Em + Mick on a beautiful day!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Standing in front of the people most beloved to us and declaring our love for each other was incredibly powerful, and a moment that we will always treasure. Seeing Mick fling his crutches into the crowd so that he could 'dance' with me made me (and our guests) laugh. I saved a letter from a dear friend who couldn't be with us to read as I was getting ready, so that she was with me in spirit. In all honesty, we were blessed with memorable moments from start to finish.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Before the wedding people were telling us both not to stress. That is the worst advice for any future bride; it's just not possible! I would tell brides to ensure that the plan works without you. Try to make sure that the running of the day involves themselves as little as possible. There are so many incredible moments to savour on your wedding day. The last thing you want to be doing is worrying about the small details.
