Andie + Christian’s wedding in Port Gamble, Washington, balanced traditional New England style with DIY accents. One of Andie’s goals was to make use of the creative people in her life throughout her wedding day, resulting in an event that was not only memorable for the significance of the union, but the involvement of elements that were unique to the couple. From Andie, “One of the best things about being able to create our wedding was the fact that we were able to utilize all of our talented friends to make each detail special and unique to us. From the invitations, to the calligraphy, to the cake topper and even additions to the dress, special friends contributed their talents and love to our day.” Thanks so much to Jaquilyn Shumate Photography for the photos and congrats to Andie + Christian!
Processional: Holocene – Bon Iver
Recessional: I Choose You – Willie Hutch
First Dance: Fuel to the Flame – Skeeter Davis
I did all of the planning for the wedding, but am most proud of the pieces that I made myself, like the sparkler + match favors, programs, and lemonade stand (with a lot of help from my engineer pal).
Our favorite moment was our first dance together. We were afraid that we would be nervous or awkward dancing in front of a hundred people, but it felt like everyone else melted away and it was just us two.
Don’t let silly little things bother you on your wedding day. Things will go wrong here and there but just remember that this is your one special day to laugh and love and make memories.

The style of this wedding stands out as so beautiful and unique! So many great details, but my faves are the flowers in the bride’s hair and the bride’s dress (such a great and flattering length on her!!).

What a cute wedding! The color palette really pulls everything together. I adore the blue walls in their ceremony space, and the house-shaped card box is wonderful.
I love the chips and lemonade stand!
So beautiful! Where was the ceremony held?
Hi! The wedding was held at Saint Paul’s chapel in Port Gamble, WA.
