When Lauryn talked of the stresses of wedding planning (“you are literally producing an event with your fiance”) we could totally understand where she was coming from. But she (and we) know how all that hard work can really pay off, and in Lauryn and Andrew’s case a beautiful barn wedding – with pops of elegance + tons of style – was a result of all the effort they put in. We love how they infused their personalities into the rustic setting + wanted to hear even more about their inspiration. Let’s let Lauryn take it away…
I think our wedding was about the two of us for so many reasons and it started with us planning everything and not hiring a wedding planner. From the location, the flowers, the colors, the Polaroid guestbook, and the overall rustic vibe, these were decisions we had a clear vision for. We also did small DIY projects. Nothing crazy, but stuff we were capable of. We love couples like Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward and so we printed different photos of them and other old school couples we love and put love quotes on the photos that we adore or say to each other. I think it’s really about those small personal touches that pull it away from a cookie cutter wedding and make the guests know this wedding really represents you both as a couple. It doesn’t have to be pricey things, just small things you love and make you happy.
A shout out to Kelsey of Ken Kienow Wedding Photography for these super gorge images and congrats to L + A on the most beautiful day!

I'm sure like most people it's hard to pick just one moment. Having everyone you love in one place is a feeling of such overwhelming awesomeness! Then combine that with the fact that all of these people are celebrating your love, every moment just becomes the best. But a few highlights in my mind were seeing each other for the first time alone, reading our vows, our first dance, and just partying and dancing our tushies off with all of our family and friends!
Lovin’ the back of Lauryn’s Maggie Sottero dress!
Processional: Bridal Party: Thank You For Being a Friend – Andrew Gold; Groom: Fool for Love – Sandy Rogers; Bride: Sea of Love – Cat Powers
Recessional: Rump Shaker – Wreckx N Effect
First Dance: How Strong My Love Is – Otis Redding
