Tropical Key West Wedding

Kitschy Cute Tropical Key West Wedding

Do you remember this tropical bridal shower we featured a few months back, with the ADORABLE donut wall? Well that bride-to-be, Chloe, and her beau, Gabe, just tied the knot — and today we’re featuring their cute, colorful, and quintessentially Key West wedding! Held at the historic Audubon House, located in the heart of the island, the whole place was decked out with pink flamingos, tropical greens, flowers, and pineapples — thanks to Kaleidoscope Flowers & Botanicals + planner, Soiree Key West.

While planning, Chloe made sure to remind herself not to be afraid to break tradition, and that she didn’t want to feel like a bride in a costume acting out a wedding ceremony, rather she wanted it to fully be her + Gabe up there, and 100% doing it their way/style. With that in mind, she wore a beautiful beaded BHLDN gown, while Gabe rocked a tropical shirt! Chloe shares We had a “vision” of what we wanted the wedding to look like and finding it at a reasonable price somewhere our family wouldn’t mind traveling to was difficult. After researching for ages, we decided to embrace our Florida roots and go all out with a tropical theme! Key West is one of the weirdest, best places in Florida with a rich history and huge tourist traps. So it was a natural choice for our kitsch Florida theme.

Key West is calling — let’s check out all the details captured by Kaity Brawley Photography!

Kaity, their photographer, shares Chloe and Gabe chose to opt out of the traditional wedding party and spent the morning getting ready together, which made for some of the sweetest moments of the day. Plus, Chloe’s “getting ready pajamas” were just ridiculously cute.

Oh and that incredible ring? It’s from Catbird!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Keep it simple! Pinterest can be great for inspiration, but going down the DIY rabbit hole can be overwhelming. Don’t set out to do a bunch of projects that you’ve never tried before and don’t sweat it if you don’t get everything done that you pinned to your wedding board! Little things like that aren’t worth stressing over and everything finds a way of working itself out.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most memorable parts of the wedding were before and after. The wedding itself happened so fast that it has become a blur (thank goodness for photographers!) We arrived at the Audubon House an hour before the ceremony to take family portraits, and I remember just being blown away by how everything had come together. What had been an image in my head was right in front of me and it couldn’t have been more perfect. For our exit, we rode away on a pedicab. The driver took us down the infamous
Duvall Street back to our hotel, and strangers were congratulating and waving to us from the sidewalk. Sitting there with my husband(!!) in a freaking pedicab riding through the streets of Key West was when it hit me. It was all so weird and fun and we were married — and it was the happiest night of our lives. Oh, but word of advice: If you ask a pedicab driver to show up an hour before your wedding ends, they will charge you for every minute. Duh. Oops.

Wasn’t that incredible?! We can’t stop oohing and aahing over these two and all the cuteness… Congrats, Chloe + Gabe!
