‘Til Death Do Us Part: A Skeletal Engagement Session

Skeleton Bridal Portraits

What costumes have you seen before and thought to yourself, “That is so insanely cool… Maybe next year…”? Well, dear friends, now is the time! And that’s exactly how today’s “’Til Death Do Us Part” editorial came about.

Photographer Deanna of DeannaPaige Photography & Design has always wanted to something bridal, but with a Halloween edge. She shares with us: I had been dying to find a couple that would make my dreams come true, with this shoot as preparation for next year’s Halloween wedding. When I messaged Kelsey (the bride) she was thrilled to be a part of it! She said her husband was super weary about having the make-up on, but he did it for her… What a trooper!

And we’re so glad that he said yes, because these enigmatic photos are every bit spooky, as they are cool + hauntingly romantic…

Keeping things in the tones of autumn, the team put together a striking textured bouquet brimming with golden buds and pops of scarlet red.

Looking to get crafty + create a gorgeous (inexpensive) look? Kelsey’s dress is actually two pieces! The two were on a tight budget — so she got creative and bought a short length dress from ASOS + the skirt was a custom piece from Etsy. Layer them on top of each other et voilá

Would you take a look at the luxurious details on her nails… And we simply can’t get over that gorgeous orange smoke bomb!!

Final parting words from Deanna: Everything that I had seen Halloween-themed was either tacky or cheesy and I wanted to create something unique and stunning, with a hint of creep. With a little imagination, some careful planning and tactful makeup + styling, something as spooky and themed as Halloween can become luxurious and elegant… It’s all about thinking outside of the box!

We couldn’t agree more!! We’d love to see your ideas for dressing us this Halloween + any sort of spooky DIYs you’ve got up your sleeve! Send us a little note in the comments below. :)
