We really love Janice + James’ sweet New Jersey farm wedding for so many reasons. And their perfect use of pastels is pretty high up on that list. Somehow they incorporated the most romantic shades into their celebration without it ever looking overly feminine or saccharine. From the pale-hued bridesmaids frocks which were just right, to the garden-inspired florals, chosen in blush and white shades, everything incorporated was a perfect fit for their natural, rustic surroundings. Bravo to J + J (and their awesome event designers Gilded Lily Events + MaryKateMoon)!
From Janice, I think we stayed true to what we both wanted. We both come from pretty traditional families and all of our siblings were previously married in churches and had their receptions at fancy banquet-hall-type places…so I think our parents expected something similar. I always said that if I did get married, I wish that I had a great-big house to have it at. We wanted that laid back, backyard party type of vibe and that is exactly what we got! Since we didn’t have our own great, big house, when we stumbled upon The Waterwitch Club, we decided it was perfect. In the end, we stuck to our guns and loved how everything turned out.
Thanks so much to Pat Furey for the beautiful photos and big congrats to Janice + James!
Adore their first look!
Janice looked stunning in her lace Claire Pettibone gown, don’t you think?
And we love how a predominately white bouquet just feels so classic. We love Janice’s bouquet with those pretty anemones + touches of languid white veronica.
I hate to make this about me instead of about James and I, but for me, it was when my mom showed up. The Thursday before our wedding weekend, she was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia-like symptoms and was not doing well at all. She was all the way at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia which is about two hours from The Waterwitch. They discharged her at about 10AM that morning and my parents made it just in time to take a few photos and walk me down the aisle. There was also James, crying at the altar watching me walk down the aisle...hearts may have shot out of my eyes when I saw that.

As we mentioned in our opener, we majorly adore these pretty pastel bridesmaids dress – and those ridiculously sweet flower girl frocks! To get the bridal party look from this pretty wedding, check out our shopping guide below!
Wood signage with white calligraphy never fails.
My advice would be to just to keep it real + have fun. Don’t sweat the little details. We didn’t, and everything turned out wonderfully.

….Everything at The Water Witch Club wedding looked beautiful including the weather…… My personal question is if there is air conditioning inside the house where the guests are seated…. I mean aside from possible fans…..? ? Pat
Very stunning photo shoot. I love the wedding dress!
