Stylish Bohemian Farmhouse Wedding: Chelsea + Ainsworth

Boho Tennessee Wedding

If you have been following along on our Fashion Blogger Gets Married Series, you’re probably just as excited as we are to know that today is the big day we’ve all been waiting for: Chelsea + Ainsworth’s gorgeous wedding at Hardy Chambers Farmhouse in Tennessee! Chelsea, being a creative in every sense of the term (just check out her amaze blog Hazel + Scout), was involved in every aspect of the design. She spent the better part of a year DIYing, collecting details and dreaming of the big day. For the things she just couldn’t manage herself (she says, the list was LONG… trust me, you can’t do it all by yourself no matter how hard you try), she learned to let go and let the sweetest, most crazy-gifted vendors step in. That would be Sleepy Fox PhotographyOld Frond for florals, The Transformation for hair + makeup, and rental pieces from The House Nashville just to name a few.

Chelsea goes on to say, Our love story is a bit unconventional and the path we’ve taken to make it down the aisle seems like the one less traveled… it makes sense that our wedding would follow suit. We wanted a day that would allow us to be focused on each other and the sweet commitment we were making but we also wanted an awesome party! Our friends flew in from all around the country to celebrate with us and it was at the top of our list to show them a good time.

You may remember we followed along as Chelsea picked out her wedding dress. Being a wardrobe stylist, she had lots of valuable tips for brides-to-be! If you’re in the midst of dress shopping, open up a new tab and check out her post! Oh, and don’t you just LOVE the gorge Rue De Seine number she went with? Many more views of that beauty to come!

C says, My sweet friends are bohemian babes! I was so happy to let them choose different frocks to reflect their different, amazing personalities and was elated by how well they played off one another. I’m obsessed with Free People so I gave them two guidelines: it has to be white and it has to be Free People!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

We shrugged off any chance of late summer rain in the weeks leading up to our wedding day and continued with our plans full steam ahead. The hours leading up to our outdoor ceremony were peaceful, a few sprinkles here and there but nothing that discouraged us from exchanging vows beneath a pretty little chuppah that would provide little shelter. The second my dad and I left the cover of that sweet house however, the clouds rumbled and it began to pour. Rain fell our entire way down the aisle and it continued to drizzle all the way through our ceremony (which was cut short because our vows began to bleed together and my dad’s script was wrecked). There was something so peaceful about the rain, almost as if all the fear, nerves and other feelings were washed away. It was the universe’s way of saying, “Look, even when things aren’t perfect and even when it storms you are choosing each other.”

Ainsworth was so worried that the rain would stress me out and he kept whispering, “It’s all going to be okay. Everything is fine.” but I knew it was. I was just so happy to be marrying my best friend that it could have been hailing and I wouldn’t have noticed. My bridesmaids improvised an umbrella made of bouquets and we kept it going!

Chelsea + Ainsworth say, It was so magical to have everyone we love come together in one place! Amidst the happy haze I can remember looking out at the crowd and realizing that everyone who has been with us on this journey was there to see it through. It’s such a special thing to be surrounded by the people who have loved you, watch your love blossom and have them there to help celebrate.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Do it your way! So many people were apprehensive about most of our big decisions… they didn’t understand how the food truck would work and shared their concerns about farmhouse nuptials. I had to work hard to stick to my guns and avoid feeling pressure to do things more traditionally. In the end though, everyone came up to tell us that the day was so “us” and one of the most memorable weddings they’d ever been to!
