For Kasia + Dave, putting together a DIY wedding that was inspired by old Mississippi, and held in the picturesque countryside of Kasia’s hometown, was their idea of perfect. Every little bit of their decor was handcrafted by the two of them, giving each piece of the day special meaning. Kasia wore the prettiest vintage wedding dress – her mother’s dress! – updated beautifully by Corine Zach and she + her gals carried the sweetest wildflower bouquets by Haze at the Flower Company. Their’s is an example of a vintage celebration totally done right + we’re definitely loving every last bit!
From the bride, We wanted to have the kind of wedding that we’d like to attend ourselves. We designed our own non-traditional invitations, served fried chicken with mac ‘n cheese, and made sure the bar was fully stocked with bourbon. Instead of picking “wedding colors” and having everything match, we opted for decor that would help us achieve a rustic, laid back mood.
Thanks so much to Jennifer Emerling for the gorgeous photos + big congrats to the happy couple!
K + D say their first look was one of their fave moment’s of the entire day.
And they spent some time with Jennifer roaming the Mississippi countryside for some pre-wedding portraits. It seems like there were a million places to snag the perfect photo op!
Processional: Bridal Party: Air in G – Johann Sebastian Bach; Bride: Arioso – Johann Sebastian Bach
Recessional: Allegro Maestoso – George Frideric Handel
First Dance: To Make You Feel My Love – Bob Dylan
The bridesmaids chose lace dresses from Free People + Anthropologie. We love how they were the perfect complement to Kasia’s vintage lace dress!
Simple vintage decor was all this setting needed!
Prioritization: We decided early on what was important to us and as time and budget started to run out, we felt okay dropping things from the bottom of the list.
Pinterest: We created a whole account for the wedding. It was so helpful to visualize every element, and seeing all the pins in one place let us get a clear sense of what was working well together and what wasn't.
Perspective: It was important for us not to compare our wedding to anybody else's. We let ourselves do things exactly the way we wanted, and not because something was expected to be a certain way.

I love the idea of this wedding, and I especially love the wedding program. Keeping it simple is best. Love the flowers also :)
This is my favorite kind of wedding…couples who don’t want cookie cutter and can share their personality. My favorite detail is the photos of movie stars as a General :)
Love the Bridesmaids dresses! Nice photography!
God Bless them with happy married life
