We’re not sure there is a prettier place to exchange your vows than the middle of a forest of redwoods. Case in point: Ashley + Cheyne’s rustic-bohemian Armstrong National Forest wedding, which seriously couldn’t have been any more gorgeous! With top notch wardrobe styling, charming woodland design elements, and an overall fun + laid back feel, this is one of those weddings that you just know was not only visually stunning, but was a true reflection of the two people it celebrated! Here’s a bit more about it all from the bride:
We really wanted our friends and family most of which were traveling to attend to just have an amazing time and feel like a little mini getaway for them. Our wedding was a 3 day event with hiking and wine tasting included. Our biggest inspiration when planning was just nature’s beauty, moss and wood were key for us. A bohemian feel with natural elements. We just really wanted our personalities to be reflected through our wedding. And most of our wedding was put together or made by us with help from friends and family.
Thanks so much to Alixann Photography for these super gorge photos of Ashley + Cheyne’s day and big congrats to the newlyweds!
Ok, could Ashley have looked any more beautiful? Her Maggie Sottero gown + headband were absolutely made for her!
And major love for Cheyne’s rad boutonniere! A family friend used a mini slab of wood, eucalyptus and lavender to create that guy! So unique + fun.
From the first time visiting the Armstrong woods together, we couldn’t envision getting married anywhere else. Just the natural beauty and history is so amazing we wanted all of our friends and family to be able to experience that beauty as well.
The first moment seeing each other for the first time! It was an unreal feeling knowing that we were about to become man and wife! Also being able to have all of our closest friends and family be one place all at the same time. Having one of our closest friends, Mykel be able to marry us meant the world to us. It was so much more sincere and personal. He was able to really make it about us and nothing else plus add a few laughs to make it more laid-back.
Quite possibly the cutest flower girls ever! And the sweet BHLDN banner they carried was just so fitting!
Ashley, Cheyne, and their whole bridal party looked pretty killer, right?! If you love their looks – and the awesome woodland decor from this gorge celebration – you can shop their day below. We were able to snag some of the real items used, as well as some very similar finds for you! :)
Don't sweat the small stuff! The details that you think are going to matter in the long run don't. Enjoy the day because it goes by way too fast.

does any one know which private residence they rented to have the reception or of any private residence in this area? Thanks!
Did you ever figure out which residence they used?
I love their looks. An awesome woodland decor from this gorge celebration.
Thanks !!
Such a gorgeous wedding! The simplicity of it all is so awe-inspiring. I’d really love to know where the location of their reception took place?
Hi!
Can you please get me the contact info to the proper officials so I can make this happen for me?? In armstrong woods <3
Hoping the bride still checks the comments on this page, or if anyone can assist a Chicago resident planning a wedding in CA — Can I hire someone to help decorate the space earlier that day? I’ll be flying in the day before and won’t have time to get anything together (also I’m NOT crafty).
Where was this private residence? Is it available for rental?
