Playful Mid-Century Palm Springs Wedding: Rachel + Michael

palm springs wedding

Mid-Century modern lovers, you’re going to be so inspired by today’s playful Palm Springs wedding, captured by Lauren Scotti Photography + hosted at Casa Verona, a super rad vacation rental sourced through Room Service! Rachel + Michael have always loved mid-century design – it’s reflected in their clothing + style as well as the decor of their home, so it only seemed natural to incorporate their passion into their wedding by infusing the day with lots of clean-lined periodic design elements + fun patterns and colors, reflective of the mid-century era. And being sure to let the desert location shine through, they were able to craft a day that was a true reflection of all of their favorite things. Here’s more from the newlyweds:

Overall we wanted the wedding to have a low key cocktail party vibe….this was basically the most important party we would ever throw! We wanted good food (a Korean taco truck), good drinks (made by our talented friend who happens to be a bartender) and a great time (what is better than a pool party???). We paid for the wedding ourselves so most of the day was DIY. Anything we could possibly make, we did – including the napkins!

Congratulations, Rachel + Michael – thanks for sharing your day with us!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

We had a feeling someone might try to throw us in the pool after the last dance, so we prepared by putting our bathing suits on under our clothes. So when the dance ended we started underdressing on the dance floor and then jumped into the pool together! It was so much fun and once the pool party started we could really settle down and enjoy all of our hard work.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Take your time. There are so many decisions and if you take time to figure out what you really want it will be so worth it. Pinterest can be overwhelming, so take it in moderation. Focus on what is important and share the process with each other. That way on the big day you can be proud of something you both created together. And never pay full retail price! With a little extra time you can always find a sale or make something yourself :)
