Happy Monday, folks! We’re starting the week off with a stunning wedding that features some of the prettiest florals + paper goods! For Lauren + Hank, they wanted a day that was a fun blend of the two of them and their unique backgrounds; one that was beautiful + timeless, but didn’t take itself too seriously at the same time. I think they found the perfect balance of playfulness + elegance that is sure to leave you feeling inspired about crafting your own celebration, knowing that it can be just as distinct and layered as the two of you are! Here’s a bit more about the day from Lauren:
Initially, I found myself stuck in that mentality of needing to do and incorporate certain things (like a wedding cake or a bouquet toss, for example). But, as soon as I realized I didn’t want to do those things, the pieces all came together much more easily. For example, we both have no interest in cake, but give us pie (for him) and ice cream (for me) and we are as happy as can be! Also, one of our very first dates ended with ice cream cones and a walk around the city so it had a special meaning for us in that regard as well. It really became a fun element of the day.
Thanks so much to Jackie Wonders Photography for the gorge photos + to Beau & Arrow Events for the perfect styling + design and big congrats to Lauren + Hank!
Can you even believe this stunner of a dress? Gold beading AND tulle? Sign us up! It was designed by Anna Maier from Hitched. Love it so much!
The signage + paper goods were expertly crafted by Lindsay Button. They add so much beauty + depth to the wedding design, don’t you think?
And the florals by Root 75 have us totally speechless! Totally adore the lush centerpieces + gorgeous hanging greenery chandeliers + garlands.
It would have to be a toss-up between those few moments after we exited the church after walking down the aisle as husband and wife and our first dance. After we left the church, it was the first time that day that we had a moment to ourselves and the fact that we had just gotten married really hit us in a way that is almost indescribable.
Our first dance was a lot of fun and it surprised me that I enjoyed it so much as it was one of those things I thought I would get nervous about. But, somehow we really were able to relax and have fun. Plus, I’m sure it helped knowing that after we finished we had a full night ahead of us to enjoy celebrating with our friends and family.
Try to have fun with it – I know everyone says that but it is really so important! The day doesn’t need to be stressful or overdone. Also, I had a very dear friend tell me to try and take mental pictures throughout the day and really be as present as possible which ended up being such great advice. Everything happens so quickly and you don’t want the entire day to feel like a blur so be sure to enjoy yourselves.
