A Pastel Palm Springs Wedding to Crown them All

Palm Springs Wedding

We’ve seen a lot of Palm Springs weddings here on GWS, from the bold + colorful to the boho + natural, but today’s wedding offers a softer take on the desert design. Heather at Amorology Weddings helped design Emilia + Chris’ wedding day as a beautiful combination of his childhood vacation memories and her Swedish heritage. She wrapped it all together with dusty pastel and golden accents, then topped it off with a crown—more on that later.

Emilia let us in on how they found inspiration for the day: We wanted our wedding to feel intimate and warm – sort of like a big party with all our close ones. As such, picking a venue that was close to our hearts was a given. We decided to get married in Chris’ family vacation home in the Palm Desert mountains. This was definitely a wild card because the house is in the middle of nowhere (literally the only way to get there is by dirt roads) and we knew there was going to be a lot of logistics. However, the house has so much meaning to us and many of our family members and friends. On top of that we got engaged there, so we knew we had to make it happen. Once we decided on this venue, we let the desert environment be the main inspiration for our big day.

Emilia + Chris turned to Amanda Gallant of Max and Friends to capture photos of the day. Let’s have a look!

Amorology created this take on a guest book as a meaningful nod to Chris’ mother: She was known for asking her children to name one good thing about the day at dinner. We carried this on in her honor in the form of a wooden board that served as a keepsake for Chris + Emilia.

As a nod to the desert and surroundings, Amorology used sandstone and neutral colors with hints of blush in the decor. Guests sipped on coconuts during cocktail hour and enjoyed an earthy and inviting reception with tabletop rentals from Hostess Haven and furniture from Folklore.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Our dance party! It truly was the best dance party ever where everyone was up and dancing. It was sweaty and so, so fun!

crown table

We wanted to honor our bride and groom’s deep-rooted family traditions: Chris’ family wore paper crowns at holiday dinners, while Emilia’s Swedish St. Lucia custom was to wear crowns of greenery during Christmas. We loved the idea giving guests their own crowns to wear throughout the reception. They were greeted with a “we’re golden” table with crowns that served as seating assignments – table numbers were written on the inside!

Just the sweetest day! Many congrats to the lovely bride and groom!
