New Zealand Handmade Wedding: Aleisha + Jared

new zealand wedding

With Jared being a musician + Aleisha a photographer/designer, they really wanted to bring those elements of them as a couple into their wedding. Jared sung to Aleisha as she walked down the aisle – and they named all of their reception tables after cameras + guitars. How fun! Aleisha’s mother also made over 100 garlands that had tiny music note love hearts strung on them for the reception. Super sweet. They really wanted their wedding day to feel like one big party + celebration and I think they totally succeeded! Thanks to Benjamin and Elise Photography for the gorgeous photos!

Jared sung Aleisha down the aisle to Love is Waiting by Brooke Fraser – such a special moment for both of them!

They exited the ceremony to Son of Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield which was pretty perfect since Jared’s Dad is a church Pastor  – who also married them!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Aleisha: When I entered to walk down the aisle and all the guests started clapping and cheering – such a great feeling! Oh and Jared singing me down aisle!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

My advice for those planning a wedding, is to go with what you want, not necessarily the traditions of what should be expected. Also have someone that can keep you on track, so you don't get distracted! Try to work with people who understand what you want, as you will have a lot of people give their opinions on what they think. Keep your ideas to close family & friends - not everyone needs to know until it has all come together on the big day!
