Modern Minimalism Meets California Citrus in this Zesty Wedding Inspiration

Who else is fan of minimalism? What about the concept of deconstructing things and using the pieces to create the big picture image? Well, my friends, today’s minimalist + modern editorial features just that—with citrus. Sam, photographer + event planner at The Arroyos shares: We wanted to create a deconstructed wedding, completely stripped down to its most basic elements and make it as simple as possible but then elevate each item so it is deeply personal and has meaning.

The first part came from the idea of getting married in a handmaid linen jumpsuit and grew from there. This is for the couple that is comfortable in clothes made with care and love, a couple whose love for the California desert runs deep. A couple that loves intimate dinner parties with friends and who lives intentionally and minimally.

Sounds cool, right? Well just wait until you see what they have in store…

The Details

Isn’t this invitation suite by Ettie Kim simple + sweet? We love the minimalism and subdued use of color!

The color palette was inspired by Southern California in the fall. The burnt oranges and yellows in the dried oranges, the copper of the dried florals, the creamy tans and beiges of the dried branches, and the pops of white in the cotton.

Does it get any more natural than dried citrus and branches? So minimal, yet so striking.

Hello, linen jumpsuit!! (WE LOVE.) It’s from the Maybe Collection. One thing we really like about these outfits? They’re elevated, but also every day; so for the couple that doesn’t want to get *too fancy* and wants something that feels more them, this could be a sleek alternative!

The Tablescape

Keep things modern and neutral, the tablescape focused on earthy tones (like the wood), paired with the pink plates and luxe accents.

No  need to complicate things, everything was clean + cool.

Switching things up, the bride donned this gorgeous gown by Alexandra Grecco from The Dress Theory (San Diego).

The Ceremony Space

Salted Blooms is responsible for all those dried florals + the brilliant bouquet.

We haven’t seen an aisle made of dried fruit before…but this is pretty darn cool, don’t you think?

P.S. We could also see this idea translating well for fall décor—think branches and dried fruit as a wreath, or strung from the fireplace mantle!
