Nikki + Terence love to travel and when it came to planning out their dream day, they knew it had to be a destination wedding! As some of their best memories involve going to tropical destinations together, plus the fact that they grew up in California + Arizona, and their shared loved of Mexican food, Mexico was a no brainer!
Teitiare Estate in Sayluita, Mexico set the stage. With the Pacific Ocean right there and a major tropical atmosphere, N+T brought Nicoella Events on to give the day a refined + bohemian-inspired feeling. Nikki shares: We made the weekend about the two of us by doing everything that we wanted to and nothing that we didn’t. We may not have had a cake or flower toss but we did have late night tacos, a live band and tequila donkey!
Sounds like a good time to us!! Ready to explore Mexico in the captures by Jillian Mitchell? Let’s look!
Slay girl, SLAY. Doesn’t Nikki look like a modern princess in her Luella’s Bridal gown?
We’re ALL about this tropical bouquet from Nicoella Events! Complete with one giant monstera leaf, a King Protea, and darling white florals it’s beachy, yet fresh and modern.
Palm fronds and monstera leaves, for the win! When it came to the ceremony arch, it was all about the greens.
Seeing each other for the first time the day of the wedding! We were both so much more emotional than we thought we would be. When looking back at the pictures from before and after, it's obvious how much more relaxed we were once we saw each other! When the only person who can relax you the day of the wedding is your future spouse, you know you're marrying the right person.
How darling is Terence in his navy blue suit from Brooks Brothers? Lookin’ so sharp!!
…Can this lounge be in our home at all times?
One of our favorite details from the day? This macramé escort card chart designed by Nicoella Events, with a tropical twist, of course!
Keeping constant with the modern + tropical theme, the tables were set with gold flatware, palm-inspired menus, and lush greenery. Those ghost chairs are a pretty cool touch too, don’t you think?

Don't get into the weeds with the details and trust your vendors. No matter what happens (or doesn't happen), at the end of the day, you'll be married to the love of your life. Try to have zero obligations the day of the wedding. Relax and take it all in. Take advantage of your friends, family and vendors to help you the day of - they'll be happy to help!
What a day!! Congrats Nikki + Terence… and we wish you many more tropical adventures together. :)
