The inspiration for today’s lovely styled shoot started when the photographer, Kate Ignatowski, was making some eco-friendly changes to her small business and felt overwhelmed trying to make everything eco-friendly. She eventually realized if we all just make small changes where we can, it can add up to create a big impact! She thinks that ideology can carry over to weddings, and we definitely agree! Environmentally-conscious couples shouldn’t feel pressure to have to have a zero-impact wedding, but they can totally include a few thoughtful, eco-friendly ideas into their day, while staying true to their style. Here’s how the team did it…
All of the stationery for the shoot was designed by Smock and printed on eco-friendly bamboo paper.
The gorgeous backdrop was Pioneer Farm, located about an hour north of NYC.
Guest favors were fruits + veggies from the farm’s garden, housed in reusable organic cotton tote bags. Dried flowers, foraged from the property, were wrapped together and hung above the table.
The pretty dress was handmade by Kendal Leonard Designs out of organic cotton sateen, organic cotton cording, and organic cotton thread. It’s pretty much the epitome of effortless beauty. Love it!
And tell us you’re not swooning over this amazing tablescape! The team built the table from a slab of salvaged wood placed atop saw horses from the farm’s shed. The moss + succulent runner + test-tube inspired vase installation by Mimosa Floral are definitely pin-worthy table details. See even more tablescape inspiration here!
Thanks so much to everyone below for sharing their ideas for a modern, eco-friendly wedding with us today!

Organic wedding dress – exquisite! Dried flowers, wrapped and hung above the table, and farm fresh fruits and vegetables for favors makes me wish I had been there!
So unique. Precious wedding. The bride’s bouquet is my favorite! Love the table too.
