Inspired by the simple, minimal interiors of Scandinavian homes and the rich color palette of the desert cities of Morocco, Gillian of Willow Weddings NYC brought together these two seemingly unrelated aesthetics for this fresh wedding inspiration. The juxtaposition of these elements offers a modern, rich, and elegant feel — but not at all stuffy — for summer + fall brides.
With the help of Dacia from Eager Hearts Photography, this creative team is bringing us an elegantly playful editorial, dubbed “Scandiroccan” to The Old Hudson in New York. Doesn’t that sound like such an interesting mix?! We were immediately intrigued as we have a penchant for the cozy, white interiors so loved in Scandinavian design, as well as playful pops and the sumptuous hues of Morocco. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The Details
By Badal for Adara Paper custom designed The Letters of Pyar Collection, seen in this striking invitation suite. Aren’t the color swatches here divine?
Hi, pretty blue heels! Want to find your own pair of equally cute kicks?
The Outfits
Have you ever seen such an enchanting veil?! We adore the light pink hue of this silky, crinkled Wayfarer Bride piece, and how elegantly Angela Boswell wove it into the bride’s hair.
Talk about DAPPER! Isn’t this rust suit modern + fresh, especially when paired with the blue floral tie?

The Minimalistic, Yet Colorful Tablescape
Park & Bloom created modern floral sculptures with seasonal blooms, that truly brought the color palette to life. Delicate bud vases accent throughout, dogwood branches frame the cozy sitting room, and the tablescape is made complete with the arrangements.
The all white interior mixed with this bold + sumptuous color palette is pretty cool, don’t you think?
Cocktails + Cake
Three cheers for cocktail hour! Featuring a variation of a French 75, the team stirred up these boozy drinks, made with Hudson Valley’s Treasury Cider.
The One Bridal Boutique provided the bride’s chic Cheryl gown from the Wild Love Collection by Halfpenny London. Diggin’ that halter neckline!
What better way to finish off the day than with a semi-naked cake from Wild Flour NYC?
So who thinks that this Scandinavian meets Moroccan palette is a match made in heaven?! We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. As always, thank you so much to the talented team of creatives behind this editorial — we so appreciate your genius + ingenuity.
