Mid-Century Modern Meets Texas: One Seriously Cool Wedding with Vibrant Pops

Mid Century Modern Texas Wedding

When an event designer says, “This is literally our all time favorite wedding we’ve ever planned,” you immediately take notice. Upon scrolling through all the details from Aften + Brian’s wedding, we understood Ciara of Bash + Co Events sentiment! Not only are A+B the coolest pair — together they run a local rescue for pit bulls, but they’ve got a serious sense of style. Aften is known for her talent with design, as she’s served as the head designer for Skagen Leather for quite some time. When she contacted Bash + Co Events to explain her idea, the team about burst with excitement.

Ciara tells us: She showed us interior photos of Mid-Century modern furniture, but also showed us a relaxed environment with bright colors — and we knew exactly where to take it. We helped them throw the coolest Mid-Mod meets Texas wedding with major flare.

Let’s see all the elements that made up the day in the photos captured by Bradford Martens!

Setting the tone for the minimalist, yet vibrant, wedding (complete with succulents) Alli K Design crafted this bright yellow invitation suite. Did you notice the illustration of their dog, Sweet Pea? So cute!!

first look

Bash + Co Events shares: Aften + Brian’s son was so involved in the day it literally brought us to tears… From the first look, their first dance, speeches – I mean the way he looks at his mom and dad!

bridesmaids in white

All the ladies in white with stunning + colorful blooms… We’re pretty *in love* with this look!!

Aften’s lace gown is quite eye-catching, no? It’s by one of our favorites: Rue de Seine!

colorful ceremony chairs

OH YEAH. Did we mention they had a sun dial backdrop for their ceremony? The way the orange, yellow and white chairs reflect the sun’s rays, too… Seriously so cool.

wedding pup

They didn’t have just one dog in their wedding, but multiple! Aften is the founder of a local rescue called The Love Pit in Dallas — it’s a rescue + foster foundation for pit bulls. Not only did three of her foster dogs walk down the aisle escorted by the MOH, but pups that’s she’s fostered and have since been adopted were brought by their new owners!  On top of that, puppies were there to be adopted during the wedding (and available for free cuddle sessions during the reception).

Isn’t this a seriously cool way to display escort cards? Mini air plants for all!! Kudos to Bash + Co Events!

For the reception space, the mid-century modern chairs from Coral Lane were moved into this space. Keeping things clean + streamlined, the tables were lined with cement candles, succulents, and bright + cheery blooms.

Did we mention how much we adore the florals for the day by Abelia Floral? The bright pops really tied the whole Mid-Century, yet bright and cheery theme together.

Every inch of the wedding felt like, “Oh, this is so Aften and Brian.” And that’s a pretty incredible feeling. Congrats, you two!!
