Mexico Meets Oregon at This Mount Hood Wedding

Mexico Meets Oregon Wedding

Kate + Garrett originally planned to get married in Mexico, but after a few mishaps, they decided to bring Mexico to Oregon instead! Dramatic pampas grass framed the ceremony space, a mariachi band played as the couple walked down the aisle, bright colored florals were everywhere, and the view of Mount Hood made for the perfect backdrop. Phil Chester was there to capture the magical day at Mt. Hood Organic Farm!

The couple shares After a change of events, we switched it to Kate’s home state of Oregon. Being able to incorporate Mexico in small ways made it feel special and personable. We hung white wedding flags throughout the reception hall, gifted the guests worry dolls, and it truly was a fiesta.

Ready to see how they brought Mexico to Oregon? Let’s look!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Having my mom officiate the wedding was incredibly special to both of us, not to mention the mariachi band that played while we walked down the aisle. The dance party was also pretty epic... We have family + friends from literally all over the world, so being able to laugh and dance with them all in one place is something we will never forget.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Don't sweat the small stuff and go with your gut (you generally know what you want). Find vendors that you love and let them work their magic. We initially saw our wedding as an entirely different event — a week long celebration in Mexico, but looking back on it, we could not have asked for a better day. The day of, some things were out of place and things didn't go exactly as planned, but those are not the details we remember. We mostly remember each other + all the love surrounding us.
