Here at Green Wedding Shoes, it’s weddings, creativity, and DIYs all day, every day. So when something *big* happens within the inner circle of our team, you know we’ve got to celebrate in a major way! In this case, that big thing happens to be an engagement, specifically that of our photographer’s sister (woop, woop!). To celebrate, Katie Pritchard, our darling photographer + editorial assistant, crafted one of coolest bridal showers we’ve ever seen!
The theme? Kate Spade with a twist! The creativity started flowing and as Katie’s one for always doing things with a bit more personality, flair, and unique style, she opted to add in moody florals and iridescent touches, instead of golds. She shares: I’m a big fan of iridescent/unicorn colors this year and thought it would be a fun way to incorporate into her shower!
Sounds pretty rad, right?! Let’s take a look at how the shower came together!!
The pastel-hued invitation was a custom made holographic acrylic piece, with bright pink envelopes. Such a great starting off point to tie in all the sheen + shine of the day.
Black and white stripes, hot pink and gold are such a funky, yet classic combo. Very Kate Spade. :)
The Bloom of Time sourced all the flowers locally at the flower mart, so Katie was able to piece them together the day before.
Also, no bridal shower is complete without a fun signature drink! To complement the bright pink, strawberry lemonade sangria was served in striped cups with pink polka dot straws!

For the design, Katie created a custom bow backdrop, as Kate Spade includes a lot of bows. Black and white stripes, hot pink and a fun iridescent ‘mermaid’ fabric sequin bow were added to canvas and hung over the desserts. She also added a balloon arch that included a mixture of clear/white hues, with a splash of pink, and added stars to the mix!

This one could work for so many different events: bridal shower, wedding backdrop, reception! This Flower Wreath was crafted with silk flowers from Afloral (so they last FOREVER!), which means that this piece could be crafted way in advance of the actual event – and good news if you are digging this as we’re sharing the DIY to create your own later today!
Elise Cakes created custom designs/flavors based off what Katie’s sister likes, including: pink galaxy donuts, white chocolate marble gems + black and pink dipped cake pops.
