I love today’s inspiration photographed at an original hop barn built in 1890. The team drew from the industrial aspects of the barn to create an edgy look and feel. The barn is lit by Edison style light bulbs, so they used that as a starting point as Alicia K Designs created a turn of the century chandelier with an industrial feel. The design details paid homage to the time period in which the barn was constructed, with metal and glass elements complementing the warmth of the barn’s wood along with the bright florals. Big thanks to Jessamyn Harris for the photos!
Thin metal wiring was incorporated into the bouquet along with air plants, scabiosa pods and dahlias.
To complement the warm, natural wood in the barn, corrugated metal pieces from the local hardware store served as a table runner, along with bright coral colored dahlias, moss, air plants and succulents filling the spaces between the metal. Many of the decorative elements from the day – including the bride and groom’s chairs, and the dessert bar – were adorned with light bulbs.
Maybe this inspires some design details that are a bit more industrial for your day?! :)

You had me at the coffee bar! Well, actually the bouquet!
Might I suggest that light bulbs strung on chair backs to be a bit dangerous? Cute ideas everywhere else though!! :)
Good point Shannon! Maybe better on a wall or table that isn’t going to be moved a lot. Thanks for the tip!
