If you missed Rosmery + Nate’s idyllic Iceland engagement photos we shared a bit earlier today, you’ll definitely want to take minute to check those out! They’re, naturally, the perfect precursor to their insanely gorgeous private elopement on the black sand beach of Dyrholaey in Iceland. While we often gush about our love for elopements, this one really is something else! From R + N’s impeccably perfect personal style to the breathtakingly unique backdrops + captures by their photographer Pat Furey, every ounce of this stunning vow exchange is completely original + incredibly stunning…
Rosmery says, We wanted an intimate ceremony where we could exchange vows privately to each other and we did just that. We chose a secluded spot on the beach with a lovely cave as a backdrop. The roaring sound of the waves crashing against the shore made it such that we could only hear ourselves, which added to the intimacy of the moment.
As far as first look locations go, it really doesn’t get better than this!
It rained on our wedding day, and it was absolutely amazing! Rain in Iceland is beautiful to watch and we thoroughly enjoyed the light shower as we exchanged vows.
And there really are no words to describe our utter obsession with Rosmery’s two-piece Emily Riggs dress + veil…
After seeing these images, Iceland is totally at the top of our list of places to visit.
Aren’t these plane wreckage photos rad? According to Instagram’s blog, While there’s extremely limited historical information regarding what exactly happened to the fuselage, legend has it that in 1973, during particularly unsavory weather conditions, an airplane ran out of fuel and was forced to make a crash-landing on a beach just west of a small town called Vík. Everyone on board survived, and the wreckage was abandoned in the black sand.
Pat, Rosmery + Nate ended their adventurous day with a couple of shots in front of an Icelandic waterfall. Just gorgeous!
Elopements are beautiful because of their simplicity, so my advice is to keep it simple. Pick a location, book a fantastic photographer, and go!

Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wedding in Iceland before. The landscape is incredible! Completely different than something we would see here in the states. Beautiful couple, and beautiful pictures. Love the creativity behind this!
thank you! best wedding.
This location is amazing!!! Love Rosemary’s dress so much!!!
absolutely stunning! And yes, if you’ve never been to iceland you MUST go, it is the most breathtaking place, photos don’t even do it justice, but these are incredibly stunning! Stunning couple too!
Loving all the compositions, and those landscape photos are UNREAL! Great job.
Gorgeous! I already wanted to go to iceland but now I reallllly want to go!
This is amazing! The shots are beautiful, and the scenery blows my mind.
Wow what an unique and beautifully shot wedding. I thought the scenery was stunning in itself with all those beautiful rich earthy colours and then there is a plane wreck!
I am obsessed with the bride’s gorgeous dress, the lace, the romantic tulle, the touch of sparkle in the belt. The shots with the plane wreckage are stunning as well.
This wedding is breathtaking! It almost seems unreal.

Can someone share where the first look/prep location was? I’m heading here in March and would love to look into it, if it is a rental!
Iceland never disappoints. Everything about this is inspiring.
