Vintage, rusted, dilapidated — though anything but dull… Today’s styled shoot was inspired by the elements of a car scrapyard: the rusted chains, picked apart pieces, vintage vehicles, and overall industrial feeling! Adding to this, Ana, the designer and planner from Las Catalinas, incorporated the quote, “Be Rust, My Love.” Inspired by Bruce Lee’s famous quote, “Be Water, My Friend,” and his philosophy to go with the flow, just as water does, Ana spun that to fit the industrial setting of Desguaces Brú in Spain. The scrapyard served as the perfect place for this free-spirited couple; brimming with discarded elements and rusted pieces of old cars, this is for the couple that loves the nostalgia of the past, with a bit of edge.
Ana shares We got to know this scrapyard when we were looking for pieces to fix our own car. The minute we saw the scrap, the machinery, the huge iron jumble — the idea became so bright and I couldn’t ignore it. During a later visit, I discovered how the rust appeared on all the cars, year after year, and how it kind of brought a uniformity to the chaos.

We managed to create a sense of harmony between the roughness of the chains, rust, and metal by adding the delicate flowers and jewels. It was all about balance and working to create complements.
How dapper does the groom look in his Italian cut wedding suit, styled by Elegant Novio? The bride wore a two-length dress by Isabel Pulido that converted to a shorter length for the reception (which you’ll see below! Such a cool idea!)
What a cool backdrop with the rusted turquoise color and the giant wheels embedded in the ground!
Ana shares This turquoise car was probably one of the most unattainable in the scrapyard. It was located 20 meters high, on top of a huge stack! But we convinced the owner to get it down for us, and it made the most beautiful element + pop of color!
Using all the resources available, the team swapped out a normal table for the trunk of a Spanish car of the ‘60s!
Un Martillo de Cristal es Feo crafted this gorgeous stationery with a mixed technique that incorporated watercolor, pencil sketch, gouache, and pastel.
The team behind the shoot put together the perfect collection of songs to fit the surrounding.

Floristería El Cotito brought more pops of color to the scrapyard by means of the florals.
Adding in “rust” with accents of copper + gold foil, along with caramel crystals in a range of jade-green, mint and pale pink, De un bocado crafted a serious confectionary masterpiece!
Hello GORGEOUS! Nuevo Look kept the bride looking glam all day long. LaSuiteroom provided the fuchsia-filled crown!
