In France most of the weddings ceremonies take place in a Church or Town Hall, but Elodie + Olivier’s wish was to be married outdoors at the foot of a large tree – and married by their friend. Elodie + Olivier wanted their day to be very special for them, and all the people they love who attended. Their biggest dream for their wedding day was a celebration of their love with family and friends as witnesses and I think you’ll agree they succeeded! Big thanks to Marion Heurteboust for the photos and congrats to Elodie + Olivier!
From Elodie, “For the inspiration, we wanted this day to be the reflection of who Olivier and I are. So it was a bit of surfing, a bit of liberty print, a bit of music, a bit of polka dots and a lot of coolness and fun!”
Elodie: It was magical to see each other before the ceremony. I was so excited to see Olivier and have this moment only with him. But my favorite moment was by far when I heard Olivier's vows, I felt like I was the only one for him, and every time I think about it, tears of happiness flow.
Olivier: The band playing "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine at the closing of the cocktail, and me doing a pogo with my father. Thank you guys. Of course the ceremony, under the huge tree, with friends, family, my daughter and my lovely wife. I felt like I was an elf. People enjoyed the ceremony, they found it meaningful, mixing our two cultures and very emotional. We (or maybe I) didn't expect such a success, plus we didn't have enough time to do any rehearsal with our friend Ronan, who did a great job for his first time as officiant.
Processional: Clair de Lune – Claude Debussy
Recessional: Wake up – Arcade Fire
First Dance: The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra
Olivier made the surf boards for the guest cards, and created a little comic for each table to tell short stories of our life. He also made the wave of the photobooth and many other elements!
And their lovely wedding film by Clapstudio
I imagined the decoration and the styling of all this day, and I was incredibly lucky to have all these talented people (family and friend) around me who made that real and possible and particularly my amazing husband !
Elodie: You have to be yourself, having no regrets later. You have to remember that this day is for the two of you, trust each other to make the day the most special. You don't have to please everyone but sometimes you have to let go a little so you're not overwhelmed. Don't lose sight of what is most important for the two of you. Let people who want to help, help you. It makes wonderful memories to be all together, to plan and organize the day before. Take time to relax and to be with each other during the day...
Olivier: If you are the pragmatic one, rememeber to check your bank account frequently. Try to keep your priorities in mind, it's easy to be tempted by many things. There are many things you can do by yourself, but you'll need time, so start working on it very early (one year before would be great).

What a beautiful first look! stunning xxx
Great wedding! Love the personalities that shine through with the groomsmen photo. Also, love the surf board photo booth, so fun.
Wow! So beautiful! Love the surfboard pics!
What a beautiful spring wedding! These purples, greens, and yellows really freshen up the sometimes stale look weddings get when they are all the same. What I notice most about these photos is how happy the couple is. This ceremony really gave them the chance to show their individuality, from the differently clad groomsmen to the fun and funky decorations. Kudos!
Love the colors of the flowers. Great combo and nice pop!
Jen, thank you so so much!!!
This wedding was just amazing to photograph and I feel so very lucky that Elodie and Olivier picked me to capture it all!

love her fishtail braid. and that photobooth backdrop is too fun!
This wedding is by far the most beautiful wedding I’ve been to. For us, Elodie’s cousins, it is going to be hard to top that wedding in the future… The ceremony, the whole day and night were totally them. They did a really great job planning this wedding like they wanted to. This is the best way to start their adventure together!
