Karli + Ian are avid music festival goers, and slightly obsessed with the bright + colorful vibes of Coachella… So much so, that their Utah wedding — held at the bride’s father’s ranch — was made to look slightly like a music festival (Coachella in mind!). They chose to pair shades of pink, orange, yellow, and blue with flowing bohemian-inspired white dresses to create this feeling. The day included a lime green horse, an intimate ceremony complete with Daft Punk tunes, and lots of confetti! Every detail was unique to them, from the groom’s green suit, the vintage camper, to the groomsmen shooting flaming arrows across the lake to set a huge wooden heart on fire.
Karli shares Our ranch is my second home. I wouldn’t say that my style is particularly rustic, so I had to come up with a way to combine bohemian, prairie, and rustic in one. The way I best found that was to embrace the beauty of a barn, but decorate it in a free-spirited manner. I kept to all neutrals for decorations and for the bridal party. I knew that I wanted lots of color and that came through with the flowers! I wanted some statement pieces and that’s where the giant “Love Letters” filled with florals came into place. To make it fun, we added a green horse, an Airstream video booth where people could leave advice, a roast about me and my husband by the people closest to us, and tons of time to dance!

The most memorable thing for me [Karli] was either my dad, who was conducting the ceremony, pulling out a giant hat and performing the lines from the movie "Princess Bride", our funny vows, the rap my brother preformed, or how the giant heart in the middle of the pond was not lighting on fire so one of the groomsmen had to take a giant stick and walk into the water to set it on fire.
Why not throw a green horse into the mix for a shocking surprise? And don’t worry — the green paint was completely animal-friendly. :)

We’re pretty darn *OBSESSED* with Ian’s green suit from Suit Supply; to polish off the look, he wore shoes by Ted Baker.
We kept our wedding smaller so that we didn’t have to be standing in a line talking to our parent’s friends the whole time. We didn’t even have a line and we got to walk around and talk to all our closest friends and family. We made sure that it was fun and memorable for everyone.

Do what YOU want — not your relatives and not anyone else. It was hard to tell my parents that the wedding was going to be small, but we knew we wanted it to be more intimate, and it was perfect. Also make someone in charge the day of and the day before so you can focus on your big day... Oh, and take a sleeping pill the night before so you can actually function!

I love everything about this! Except the green horse. I guess I don’ t know why you’d want to take away from a horse’s natural beauty.
