Lisa + Elie are as cute as they come! And their vision for their elegant Washington private estate wedding was for the day to reflect their relationship + values, and to incorporate their friends + family into the celebration wherever they could. The night before the wedding, instead of having a traditional rehearsal dinner, they hosted a relaxed picnic for all of their guests. And the morning following their big day, they threw a fun brunch at their house to bid all their favorite friends adieu! Since they had a ton of out of town guests, it was a major priority for them to get to spend quality time with each person. I know a lot of you who are planning your wedding now will find yourselves in a similar situation, so why not take a cue from Lisa + Elie and make a lovely long weekend out of it?
More from Lisa about the day, We integrated both of our faiths and cultural traditions into the ceremony. Instead of the traditional readings for the Jewish Seven Blessings ceremony, we asked seven family and friends to give us their own unique, personal blessing. It was one of the highlights. Another highlight was when our friend, Daisy, played an original song she wrote for us, before we said our vows. She perfectly captured our life and our love in her song, I Do. Overall, that was one of the most special parts of our whole wedding experience — how much fun we had, the friendships we both created and strengthened, and the love and support we felt from our community.
Thanks so much to Michele M. Waite Photography for sharing these beautiful photos of Lisa + Elie’s day with us, and big congrats to the happy couple!
I’m mildly obsessed with Lisa’s romantically untamed bouquet by Sinclair & Moore Events. It featured the prettiest ivory garden roses, along with jasmine vine, pink astilbe, blushing bride protea + more! And how cute are the bridesmaid’s mini versions (which also included anemones) above?!
The most memorable part of the day was the overwhelming love and support of our family and friends who were there to celebrate with us. You could feel the joy in the air. It was like nothing we had ever experienced before. We just kept thinking, “Everyone should have a wedding!” Everyone should have an experience where they feel that kind of love. It strengthens your soul. I can’t imagine a better way to launch our life together.
You can just feel the love + happiness in this photo! Makes me smile big time! :)
Since I am a registered dietitian nutritionist, and we both love great food, the wedding food was very important to us. Our friends, Jessica + Mataio, from Ciao Thyme catered the wedding. We asked them to create an incognito (surprise) menu for us, meaning we didn’t know the wedding menu until we sat down to eat! Not only did they completely blow us away with the wedding dinner itself, but, knowing our love for local food, they created a surprise Farmer’s Market for our cocktail hour, as their wedding gift to us. The whole experience was spectacular, and completely perfect for us.
Sinclair & Moore Events not only created the stunning florals, but they beautifully designed the reception to feel like an elegant, european-inspired family dinner. Love how the mini baguette escort cards double as guest favors!
Be sure to also check out their lovely wedding film from Cabfare Productions!
Relax and have fun. Be nice to each other, and remember why you’re doing all of this planning. The marriage is the most important part. Don’t be afraid to ask, “why?” If a tradition doesn’t feel right to you, then question it. Figure out how to make the wedding and the celebration personal.

This wedding makes me miss the Pacific North West! So beautiful! And the food- there’s nothing like it! Worked with some of these vendors in the past an their commitment to their brides and grooms is so evident! Thanks for making me a little home away from homesick ;)
This is a gorgeous wedding, both because of the elegant and bright, bold detail, but too because the couple is just so happy. And the photos are brilliant, as always. I’ll forever love Michele’s work!
:)
Thanks so much for featuring one of my favorite weddings of 2013. This wedding was so special as it was truly a community event- custom flavors from the local ice cream shop, chocolates made by the chocolatiere here in Bellingham, a farmer’s market cocktail hour of all local produce, breads and herbs and dinner all created with locally sourced foods. wow. And, thanks Chloe, I think you are pretty great yourself. :)
Wow, thanks for featuring this beautiful wedding on your site! We had such a great time being involved!
Jen, Thank you for featuring our wedding! We love all of the people who worked together to make our day perfect. It’s so fun to re-live it here.
The vintage car is perfect! The layout of the food at the reception is unique and beautiful, too.
Gorgeous wedding! The couple is just so happy it brought a smile to my face. I also love the review mirror picture.
Perfect! I absolutely love the ceremony decoration, the food presentation and the look in the couples face. <3 I'd love to know where her veil is from? Does anyone know? Tks.
Love this dress!
What’s the name of that song playing during the vows? The singer has a beautiful voice!
Amazing wedding ! In the french tradition for a jewish wedding, we play MazelTov and other musics like that…
