Cultural Three-Day Wedding Celebration: Sarah + Ruch

bride and groom

Sarah’s dad is Thai, her mom is American, and Ruch’s parents are Indian. So, when they started planning for their wedding, they knew they had a lot of cultures + traditions to honor, and they decided to throw the celebration of a lifetime…which lasted three incredible days + was filled with enlightening customs and inspirational details. It was important to the couple to have lots of time to spend with family + friends and to honor much of what makes them who they are together. I’d say they did all that + more! Here’s a bit more about the day from the bride:

Thursday was the Thai ceremony at a Thai temple that my Dad has been involved in for over 30 years. Friday was a Hindu ceremony that honored all the main traditions, including a Hindu priest and white horse. Saturday was an “American” ceremony that was officiated by our dear friends. The main theme was that each ceremony was personal and honored the rich diversity of our parents backgrounds. Beyond that, we wanted the three days to be a carefree vacation for and with the people we love most in the world. And it was! The energy and love was overwhelming, and everyone laughed and partied the whole time, regardless of age and culture.

Thanks so much to Paige Jones for sharing Sarah + Ruch’s gorgeous day with us + big congrats to the happy couple! :)

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

So many to count! There were 3 days worth. For Friday, the karaoke after-party was epic. Almost everyone got involved, and much spontaneous dancing occurred. For Saturday, hearing our best friends tell stories about life and marriage while they officiated our wedding is something we'll never forget. And then dancing that night to Indian, Thai, and American pop music brought everyone together. And I will always remember dancing to Frank Sinatra with my Dad.

We really, really, really, want to give a special shout out to Paige, our photographer. She and her husband Keith added so much warmth and joy to our wedding, and they were always going above and beyond their call of duty to get the best pictures and mesh with our family and friends. We absolutely love our pictures, and the level of fun and professionalism they brought to our weekend cannot be overstated.
