If you’ve never heard of the Korakia Pensione (also featured in our Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married), you’re in for a treat today! Think: historic, restored villas, gardens, pools, antique details, all the colors of California and, of course, that dramatic keyhole door — all situated as a dreamy oasis in the middle of the dessert. Our love affair with Palm Springs is matched by artists and dreamers from all over, including Annie + Ken, the lovely bride and groom who traveled from New York to get married under the desert sun. These two love cosmic details and plants, so it’s no wonder they wanted to venture out to where the stars twinkle brightest over the palms! Annie tells us:
There were three base elements we kept in mind when we started planning: my love for strong, simple geometric shapes and clean lines, Ken’s love for plants (especially succulents and warm-weather ones), and our combined love of everything outer space-related. Our apartment in New York is chock-full of representations of all three of these things. We then worked with Mackenzie from Details, Darling to layer these ideas, as well as a warm, soft color palette, to create the various elements our guests saw throughout the evening. Our guiding principle for everything we did was that we wanted our day to feel intentional and intimate, but very casual. We wanted our guests to feel like they were at a very nice party, rather than a traditional wedding.

The Dress
Annie wore one of our absolute favorites, the Raven gown by Rue de Seine (which she found at another favorite, Lovely Bride)! Totally falling for those crotchet details!
The Florals
LOVE these bouquets by Foxtail Florals! The palms for the gals are so perfect, and we spy a dreamy arrangement of proteas, eucalyptus, and succulents there in Annie’s hands!
The Gents

The Ceremony
*THAT DOOR* Naturally, A + K chose this area of the Korakia to serve as the alter! Flanked by potted plants and surrounded by friends + family (and their dog!), A + K had the dreamiest ceremony:
As far as a singular moment – being surprised by the amazingly hilarious and personal ceremony officiated by Ken’s best man, Adrian. It was perfect and so “us.” People laughed as much as they cried and the only scripture quoted were the lyrics of 50 Cent. All in, with my friends and family in Southern California and Ken’s in upstate NY, we loved that our wedding brought together friends and family from both coasts in a fun vacation setting.

All the interstellar details by Seventh Bixel captured A + K’s love for all things outer space. Is that not the most beautiful moon you ever saw? (Also…the cacti and succulents are so, so perfect!)
This dance floor! Goals.
Yeah Rentals outfitted the space with a mid-century lounge and bar, where guests could kick up their feet.
Those dipped utensils? Their from Borrowed Blu (along with the other dreamy tabletop rentals), and the seriously cool painted placemats are by Seventh Bixel.
One more showstopper: this dessert table by Whoa Nelly and Seventh Bixel‘s cosmic moon backdrop!
