Byron Bay Australia Wedding: Lani + Damien

bride and groom

Lani + Damien’s playful wedding, beautifully designed by Little Gray Station, was a fun mix of some of their favorite things! They wanted to incorporate lots of little details to really make the day their own, but mostly they wanted to throw a super fun party where everyone would have a great time. Since they live in Singapore, it was really important to them to be able to celebrate and spend quality time with their family + friends over the course of a few days, rather than just one. So when they happened upon the Moller Pavilion, tucked away in the Byron Bay region of Australia, they knew they’d found a location that was the perfect fit for what they wanted. And when it came to inspiration, Lani had the vision to transform a blank space into a vintage forest wonderland! You’ll see how she did it a bit later in the post!

Big thanks to Tim Coulson for the gorgeous photography + congratulations to Lani + Damien!

In major love with Lani’s Reem Acra dress, which she purchased from Anna Dafonte in Paddington NSW.

During cocktail hour, guests were able to meander around the property and enjoyed a fun variety of lawn games, like croquet + corn hole!

And here’s the beautiful vintage forest wonderland! Elyssium Blooms brought Lani’s vision to life by suspending an abundant dose of greenery from the venue’s rafters + then mixing in silver heart ornaments + lots of blub lights! Doesn’t it look beautiful?!

Another fun way Lani + Damien were able to personalize their day was with toy figurines repurposed as cake toppers! They each chose one for each other to coincide with their nicknames. And they had to do it totally on their own + they weren’t allowed to spend over $5! Such a sweet, fun idea! :)

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Definitely walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time on the day – goosebumps! Damien was in tears and I was very close to it. Below is our favourite shot of the day by far – it just captures the amount of laughter and love in the room!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

1. Pick a great team who understand your vision, however crazy it may seem at the time (i.e copious amounts of greenery hanging from the roof).
2. Focus on the experience of your guests and not just you as the bride or groom. I think the key areas to invest in and get right are the food, the drinks and the music.
3. After all that’s said and done, you have the memories in your head, but your photos will be forever. Make sure you pick a photographer who gets your style and you get theirs. We are in love with our photos, and often relive the day on a Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine.
