Today’s bride has a little ace up her beautiful, billowy, blush sleeve! Steph is the PR + Marketing Manager at the Melbourne-based design house, One Day Bridal, where she works along her sister, Kyha, the Founder and Creative Director. AKA…girl has got the “bespoke blush wedding dress” hookup!! We love to see how brides-to-be who work in the wedding industry design their own day, and Steph + Dylan’s simply blew us away. Here’s Steph on their inspiration:
Dylan and I are both creative people with very distinctive personal styles, so it was important that our day reflected that. The venue played a big part in the overall style and mood of the day. I’d always been drawn to industrial-style buildings and fell in love with the interior of Rupert on Rupert from a photo. It had so much character and I loved the greenery. Having the girls at The Style Co to help us along the way meant we were more confident in taking risks with the styling to ensure it was a true reflection of us both.
Hails and Shine captured all the details and we can’t wait any longer…let’s have a look!
We’ll get straight to it: THIS DRESS!! Kyha create this bespoke fairytale gown for her sister, the bride. The highlights (and there are many) are the dusty pink lace, delicately embroidered gold beading and silk flowers, and those dramatic sweeping sleeves!
Steph even had a mini-me flower girl! Adorable.
Get that fairytale look!
Dylan went dapper in a double-breasted suit!
Loving the blue and green tones of this space.
Trust the experts. You enlist the help of specialised stylists, florists, wedding planners, hair and makeup artists to be there for you on the day. During the process trust their opinions, their recommendations, and let them do what they do best.
I also highly recommend a wedding planner. From the outset, having Sarah there knowing that she was handling everything ensured Dylan and I could really enjoy the process and not worry about those little details or trying to juggle it all as we both lead busy lives.
Finally, enjoy the process. The planning is just as important as the day itself. Involve your fiancé and your family since they day is just as important to them.
What a little rock star.
A few ways S + D made the day personal to them? We removed any wedding traditions we felt weren’t relevant to us. I walked down the aisle by myself behind my family, I didn’t wear white, and it was also my Grandfather’s 89th birthday so we had a big birthday cake for him. We made a conscious effort to ensure every little aspect was us.
Yay!!
Being very close to their families, S + D wanted their reception to reflect that of a big family dinner.
The Style Co team created these lavish floral centerpieces for the day! Gold roses?! Sign us up.
Love seeing the blush color pop up in the day’s decor, as well!
Dylan: Watching Steph walk down the aisle.
Steph: During dinner, just before speeches, I sat back and looked out across the table at all of our loved ones. I held Dylan’s hand and took it all in. That, for me, was such an incredible moment. Seeing everything came together after months of planning, it was perfect.
Steph changed into a second look for the evening, the crystal fringe York Gown by One Day Bridal. We love how she rocked the dreamy princess and rocker chic without batting an eyelash!
And be sure to check out their video by Moon and Back Co.
Congrats to Steph and Dylan!
