Bridal Inspiration from the Russian Ballet

dark and moody ballet inspiration

Today, we’re sharing some super gorge inspiration plucked from two of our favorite wedding components. First up, fashion (and you’ll have to wait just a bit to see what we’ve chosen for our next feature!). Inspired by a Russian ballet article in The New Yorker, this editorial, conceptualized and photographed by Jen Huang, is a look at the hardship and darkness behind Russian ballet, but translates that drama into something lasting and beautiful.

We recently shared BHLDN’s Fall 2014 collection, which was also inspired by the ballet (but perhaps the lighter side of it) and we have to say we’re loving every angle of expressive dance for bridal inspiration! We’re finding that the layers + tulle, and the moody textures + hues, channel a certain sophistication + elegance that just feels so right for fall + winter bridal style…

New York-based talent, Sarah of Saipua, worked her floral magic, using rich, moody tones + interesting textures to keep up with the shoot’s cultivated aesthetic.
