One thing we love to hear over and over again? “It’s all about the adventure!” And that’s exactly what Emilie and Stefan kept embracing and reminding themselves as they planned their magnificent celebration. Emilie is originally from California, Stefan is an Oregonian; together they live in Bend, Oregon and wanted a day where everyone could come together, celebrate, and see the place they love and call home…
Their planner + designer, Abby of AE Creative shares: Unfortunately Oregon had one of the worst forest fire seasons in a very long time so come wedding day, the sky was filled with smoke and the normal snow capped mountains were hidden. But the haze made for amazing moody photos, and a little smoke would never stop this couple from celebrating the day to the absolute fullest!
The venue, Ranch at the Canyons, set the overall tone for the day. With a major love of free-spirited and bohemian designs, and wanting to dish up family style tacos + margaritas, the Ranch was the perfect place for a whimsical bohemian wedding!
Let’s wander to the Ranch + get lost in all the photos snapped by Victoria Carlson Photography!
Draping in dazzling ribbons, the bouquets by Heirloom Floral took on a moody vibe… Replete with tons of textures and berries, the florals were made to look like they’d been foraged from the property grounds.
Hey gorgeous girl squad!! The ladies all rocked Honeydew robes while Blush Artistries played up their natural beauty with darling hair + makeup styling.
Bridesmaids in pastel hues from Show Me Your Mumu? We LOVE this look!
Are you eyeing the delicate design on Emilie’s Rue de Seine dress? So, so pretty! P.S. It’s from Lovely Bride!
Emilie and her bestie love crescent moons (she even has a tattoo of one), so the calligrapher, My Fair Letters, added “Wouldn’t miss it for the moon,” to the ceremony sign.
Ranch at the Canyons has a circular horse corral that has an amazing view of the back side of the famous Smith Rock. AE Creative played off this circular setting and placed the chuppah right in the middle. It was pretty magical and every guest had a great view of the couple vowing their love to one another.
The groom’s father is quite the handyman and constructed the chuppah, in addition to the shot glass board (which you’ll see later on!), and lawn games.
The bride is Jewish but the groom is not, so instead of breaking the traditional glass at the end of the ceremony, the groom smashed a Christmas ornament that said “naughty.”
The welcome sign displayed the couple’s saying of “It’s all about the adventure,” so framed photos of the E+S adventuring over the years served as table number markings!
Handmade pottery in the form of shot glasses for the seating chart? Genius!!
Guests were instructed to grab a shot and find their seat. The shots were all taken at once after the father of the bride made his pre-dinner toast.
The tables were adorned with a collection of potted succulents, color glassware, and peachy pink napkins.
For place cards, the Emilie got crafty and used scrap wood pieces from her father-in-law’s projects and wood burned each guest’s name into them.
Cuties!!
Emilie and Stefan met at Agate Alley, a bistro in Eugene on the University of Oregon campus where the two attended school. So AE Creative used agate slices to label the different desserts on the dessert table and as coasters for the Bride and Groom at their place settings!
The crescent moon tattoo makes an appearance!
Absolutely, positively, wonderfully gorgeous + brimming with love. Congratulations, Emilie + Stefan!!
