Sierra + Martin always knew they wanted an outdoor picnic style wedding. After meeting with their wedding planners, Hello Gem who noticed not only Sierra’s love of sparkle, but more importantly space + astronomy, they decided to bring a fun starry + space element to their day. So fun, right? A vintage astronomy map was used as inspiration for their invitations and paper goods. From there, their ideas just grew and they planned the most magical + special outdoor picnic space for their wedding! Thanks so much to Honey Honey Photography for the photos and congrats to Sierra + Martin!
LOVE their fringe backdrop!
Processional: Your Hand in Mine – Explosions in the sky & Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros
Recessional: My Guy – Mary Wells
First Dance: At Last – Etta James (sang by Yvonne Botti, my best friend and bridesmaid)
The most memorable moment of the entire day was standing in front of all our closest friends and family and reciting our vows that we had written for each other. There's just something about the raw emotion that flowed from the both of us on that day. I felt like we were in our own little world during the ceremony, what an exhilarating feeling.
All of my vendors were so incredible and really made the day unforgettable. They exceeded my expectations to the furthest degree. I almost want to get married again so I can work with all of them again.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help from your friends and family. We had a tremendous amount of help from everyone in our lives. From the hand crafted beers and root beer (ambitiousales.com) our friend made specifically for the wedding, a friend lending his DJ skills, my best friend lending her beautiful voice for the first dance, our wedding designers who worked so hard and the countless people who spent hours and hours working on things for us. We couldn’t have done it without them.
First, hire a wedding planner. Second, don't forget that this is about YOU and the love of your life. Sometimes we can get caught up in the drama of planning a wedding and really miss out on those once in a lifetime moments. Third, take a deep breath and relax. Do something nice for yourself if you get too stressed out with planning and crafts. Most of all, ENJOY IT! Your day goes by so fast that sometimes it's hard to remember or even believe it happened. Take a moment out of your day to stand back, take a deep breath and take it all in and appreciate all the hard work that went into something so amazingly beautiful and special.

I’m a huge fan of astronomy and this wedding is arranged so perfectly that I can only sigh and admire. (Those paper stars and the fairy-lights – fabulous!)
Thank you so much for the feature GWS!
Hi, I really love your dress and I see that it came from Etsy. Would you mind sharing the maker and/or designer?
