As soon as this super fun shoot popped into my inbox, I was sold! I love the movie Amélie and I just saw Midnight in Paris this weekend, so I’m definitely in a Paris mood. :) I love how this talented team of vendors took elements from the film and reimagined them as integral parts of a beautiful, non-traditional wedding. The intense colors, the gnome, desserts, the photos and the whimsical love story are all seen here. I hope you enjoy!!
How perfect is that Save the Date?! And nothing Amélie inspired would be complete without the fantastic traveling gnome. They re-imagined his role at a honeymoon table where guests were asked to write notes for the couple to read on their honeymoon. Bon Voyage!
I love how Katie at Ooh La La Designs designed the bouquet using elements from the street produce market scenes in the movie. Katie made it work beautifully with ornate kale + artichokes in this bouquet. And of course the famous red Converse were an absolute must-have for the groom!
The adorable couple are a real life couple – aren’t they the cutest?!!
I simply love the bar setup that Night Owl Productions put together! It’s an ornate champagne bar with various mix-ins from fruit juices to blueberry simple syrup and fruit slices – yum!
Lovely invitation suite from Mintwich Design.
Because photos play such an important role in the film, they asked the guests to send a snapshot along with their RSVP card. They then torn them up and pasted them back together like in the movie and that was how the guest found their seat! How fun is that??!!
We all know Amélie loves raspberries because they’re fun to eat – and of course crème brûlée :).
Thanks also to Jakfoto Films for capturing the day…
Thanks so much to all these amazing vendors + I hope you are inspired – I know I am! :)

Everything about this wedding is so beautiful. I love the “Amelie” theme. I totally have an urge to watch the movie again.
Love this – great photos and wonderful styling! :-)
Wow, i don’t know where to begin! So many fabulous details…and so well thought-out to mimic the movie! Kudos to the whole team.
Love this shoot- Amelie is my favorite movie of ALL time! Have to say though, their video should have had the soundtrack to the movie, I was so disappointed! It is one of the most inspiring music compilations…and really fun!
magnifique!!!!
love the theme! love amelie :)
this is great…if it were up to me I would have an “Amelie” themed well ….anything. But the funny thing is my French beau (& most of his French pals) actually dont care for the film so much. “Too many damaging stereo-types” they say.
But this wedding inspiration is rockstar! I love the ripped photos. So brilliant I cant take it!
Well done!
So darling! And what a unique idea!

I adore this, the colours are immense.
Oh my goodness! All of our hard work paid off and it’s an honor to be featured here on GWS. Thank you for the lovely compliments everyone!
P.S. The video doesn’t have the movie soundtrack because we wanted to abide by the rules of copyright. We found a creative commons song that was legal to use and had the right feel.
i love this. so cute!!
Melissa, it was so thrilling to see your vision come to life so perfectly! I had a great time creating with you, and I’m excited to share this gorgeous inspiration with everyone! Many thanks to GWS and to everyone for your comments!
(and Stephanie, I LOVE the movie soundtrack too, but I’m a stickler for doing things the proper way – I’d hate to have a video taken down because of copyright! read more about it here: http://bit.ly/isvPyQ I hope the piece we chose is the right feel!)
What an adorable wedding! The colors, the ripped up photos, LOVE!
What a perfectly styled shoot!
some great colours throughout the shoot and the last picture is amazing!
OMG – I love this shoot! Oh if only my OH actually liked the film – I would totally be doing this theme!
Only one criticism – Amélie liked breaking the top of crème brûlée with the back of the spoon, not the tip!!! Sorry but the geek in me had to point this out!
Great them and great execution! the pics are beautiful! lovely job! Alexis
huzzah for confetti blowing!
Fabulous all around! Definitely inspiring. :)
Definitely one of the most fun inspiration shoots I’ve seen! Love all the color here.
Adorable wedding!!
Wow – I love the idea of the save the date shots and the ripped paper look! How cool is that!! Great idea! And what a fun shoot this is – great work!
I love the “Amelie” theme. Très très jolie! Un peu plus de Paris avec la tour eiffel et voilà!
