Sometimes you just gotta work with what you have – a notion known all too well to the Northern Indiana based wedding creatives who drummed up this beautiful editorial. Photographer, Destany of The Colagrossis, shares, Northern Indiana is quite short on great wedding venues, so many of our brides opt to have a laid-back outdoor fete at a park pavilion or shelter. The pavilion we chose for the shoot was old and left abandoned in the woods. The heavy wood beams and moss-covered slate roof served as the most lovely and whimsical backdrop.
While it seems almost foreign to us in sunny SoCal, I think we can all agree there is something romantic about the aftermath of a snowstorm. Destany says, The evergreens, the snuggles to keep warm, tweed, the way snow twinkles in the light. Yes, yes, yes and yes. With the design skills of Savage Design Co and florals from Karmen + Chris of Be Married, we don’t doubt that this mid-century style picnic in the woods they created will be a concept snatched up by couples all over the globe.
Now that’s a bouquet! Loving all the green!
We love that the bride is keeping warm in her faux fur from Forever 21 :)
How many Indiana couples out there will not even finish this post before reaching out to this amaze venue – Foster Park Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne. So super cool.
And that beautiful naked cake by Sassie Cakes was an amazing fit.

Big thanks to everyone below for contributing to such an inspiring shoot! Destany closes with these wise words, We currently have a couple that wants so much to have a winter wedding and they are getting so much push-back. If we could give our couples any piece of advice, its to stay true to yourselves and have the wedding day that is YOU from the season to the style, to the format. There is no “way to have a wedding” besides just being yourselves and having the most loving day of your lives!

This is stunning! I love how dramatic it feels!
Oo I love all the greenery. And that bouquet is totally stunning.
gotta love the greens. So very elegantly styled.
Great inspiration. Beautiful photos and video.
Now I have to agree that there is really something romantic on the aftermath of a snowstorm! It was just so surprising that this kind of wedding theme is possible. The wedding planners are really creative on this. I love every single detail you featured here. Well, I think One Heart Wedding HK could do this, too. :)
We always advise our elopement clients to consider getting married in the off-season. Your pictures will be spectacularly unique (just like the shoot above) and you’ll most likely get more bang for your buck. Well done, Destiny and Savage Design Co!
