With the gorgeous photography of Punam Bean + the design talents of Very Merry Events, this wedding is the ultimate love story. Sade + Brent were both deployed numerous times throughout their relationship, so it was important to them that they carried their dog tags from the 5 war zones with them each – Sade wrapped Brent’s around her bouquet while Brent wore her’s under his shirt. The dog taggs symbolized not only their commitment to their country, but to each other. Yellow is Sade’s favorite color and blue is Brent’s so they wanted to incorporate those colors also – plus yellow represents those who are serving our country in far away lands and yellow represents the hope that they come back safe. Their personal style is pretty relaxed, so they ultimately wanted a romantic day that was very relaxing for all their guests and I think they accomplished that. Congrats to Sade + Brent!

Their ceremony + reception took place at the lovely Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma, California.
From Sade, “Our wedding was designed by the incomparable Mary Phan of Very Merry Events. W hile I had ideas, I had no clue how to make sense of it. The design concept came about because we (my Husband and I) are always traveling and we (Mary Phan and I) decided it would be fun to incorporate the sense of romance that comes with being gone all the time into our wedding story. ”
Sade and Brent come from very diverse cultures, so that was important to them to honor that. Sade is Nigerian/West Indian and Brent is Mexican. During the cocktail hour they incorporated Mexican and West Indian hordverosu such as empanadas and jerk chicken. At the end of the night, they served a Nigerian snack called chin chin as part of the late night snacks.
So so gorgeous, right? Congrats to Sade + Brent and we wish you both the best in your new journey as husband + wife!

Penny, the Card was to give the guest guide to take pictures of moments such as their favorite decor, the bride looking at the groom from across the room and so forth. That way they can feel like a part of the wedding and the can catch details that we may like to see in the future.
Jeff, great idea! I will take me a long while to actually figure out an estimate. I did all the paper products myself. My planner was a beast. She continues to amaze me till this day with what she can do. We planned the wedding for 18 months. I was deployed for 6 months during that timeframe. I will have to get back to you regarding estimate of cost.
