Jodi + Jeth loved the idea of a private ceremony with just the two of them from the moment they got engaged. They live in Kansas, but when they found Fair Havens Plantation Bed and Breakfast in Athens, Georgia, they knew it was the perfect location – and they had never even been to Georgia in their life! Love that they took a trip to a totally new place for their elopement. Jodi wanted a kind of 1920’s vintage feel to their day and chose a vintage dress + hair accessory from etsy. And yes, they have promised their friends and family a big party at home also to include them in the celebration too. :) Congrats to Jodi + Jeth and thanks to Amy Arrington for the gorgeous photos!
I love that her bouquet was a single magnolia flower that was picked that morning from the giant magnolia tree by the house.
Most memorable moment of your wedding day? Mine was during the ceremony. It was the way Jeth was looking at me. Jeth says his favorite moment was when he found the big magnolia flower and brought it to me. We both remember how nice it was to hear thunder that morning. It rained all day and finally stopped that evening, just in time for photos and the ceremony.
The cake was topped with a gorgeous edible flower and accented with cute edible buttons, all from Andie’s Specialty Sweets. Underneath the icing, her cake was blue – fun!
From Jeth, Why wouldn’t we elope?? Well Jeth, I have to agree with you, why not?! Your day looked perfect. :)
Any advice for those planning now? Try to focus on what’s significant to the two of you, and not on what’s expected or what’s been done before. And if you’re looking online for a dress or shoes or whatever, I suggest leaving the word “wedding” out of your search. Why limit yourself?
Congrats Jodi + Jeth and thanks for sharing your intimate day with us!
